Dimpling?

So these look like they are dimpling slightly? The humidity is 100%. Could it be too much? They look a little wet in the pictures but they are dry to the touch. They are on day 24 of incubation if that matters any?

What species is this? Triple check the humidity with another hygrometer. Early dimpling is usually a sign of inadequate humidity. What type of substrate are you using and what is the temp in the tub?

Beauty snake. The bottom of the incubator is filled with water and I have an aquarium heater. Lots of condensation and you get a wave of humidity in the face when you open it (I can check again but I doubt it's reading wrong) but I was just thinking if the vermiculite was too dry maybe it is taking moisture from the eggs? They stay around 78-80 for temp.

And that one egg in the back laying on its side with the major dent is the infertile egg that has slowly been collapsing for awhile now.

Ok. Actually the dimpling is minimal but are you seeing any condensation and or dripping on the tub top. Like , are droplets of condensation dripping directly onto the eggs?

Lid is tilted so the water runs down and drips away from the eggs.

I soaked the vermiculite again and put a grate under the eggs. And put some moss on them to help. Hopefully I'll see improvement by tomorrow night. Otherwise I'm unsure what could be causing it.

Condensation only normally happens with temperature fluctuations. The moss is a good idea and will help, but definitely try to figure out why comdensation is happening in the first place.

The more I look at those eggs I see moisture on the top of them! It's apparent that you have condensation droplets falling on to your eggs. The tilting of the tub may not be adequate to avoid this pitfall. Actually, condensation is the most accurate indicator that your humidity is where it's supposed to be. It happens when your setup is correct and that's what you want to see in your tub that contains eggs.

Condensation occurs when the incubator temp is lower than your internal tub temperature. You really want condensation. What you don't want, is the product of condensation, which is water to be forming and dripping onto the eggs.

Um...it's actually usually caused from someone opening the incubator too frequently and SHOULD NOT be happening to the extent of water forming and dripping on the eggs. This is not a good sign and having no condensation present while maintaining proper conditions is certainly possible and preferred. I would not suggest condensation to be an indicator of correct conditions. To each their own though, I suppose.

rid, check the tops of your eggs there is signs of water on the eggs when you scrutinize the photos it is apparent there are water stains on the egg tops. Consider changing the egg tub if that is at all possible.
