Really, I just want to hear your opinion, is this a good deal? $153.99 (plus tax) for a 36x18x18 exo Terra terrarium.

I want to get it for the good price(at least I think it is) and the sale ends on the 30th (might look for a good albino Cali king in the future) and I was thinking of moving Glitch into this. (Darn if Mink I'm getting so close! Already have one snake that will be coming with me when i leave, might as well step my game up lol)

Also, I'm looking for stands that will accommodate both (stacking preferably) if any of you can point me in the right direction of purchasing a affordable one or building my own. Thanks all!

Amazon has it priced at around $195 so it looks like a good deal. Not sure about stands at a Pet shop though. May be pricey. There's a couple aquarium stands for 36 x 18 tanks that are under $150 on amazon too so that might be a good point of reference for what you're gonna pay. If you haven't already, check craigslist for all that stuff as well. I bought a 40 gallon tank with a heat pad for like $50 a few years back and used my dresser as the stand.

Have you thought about building a stand?

Unfortunately there is little in the ways of getting decent terrariums from nearby as most here use converted aquariums and heat lamps here. I dislike the use of either if I can help it(plus I like the look of the exo Terra) (talking about Craigslist)

I am highly considering making a stand (and have found a tutorial for stacked aquarium stands that will be very little cost to me( only need a couple of modifications to be fit for the terrariums) I find it difficult to find a dresser with sufficient space for the enclosure alone. The one I plan to make if I do, will be of basic 2x4's and will be simple to sand and fix up as well as being quite sturdy. I do not plan on getting a stand at the pet shop because they are quite pricey and take too much space or wouldn't be good in my bedroom. I'm not planing on anything immediate so I will gradually accumulate materials for the (eventual) new addition.

Thank you for insight and will take it in consideration wilst making my decisions.(especially the stands from Amazon, I hadn't thought of that other than looking at desks and such. Still may be pricey though :/ )

Also, it seems that many generic aquarium stands are too narrow I think:/ I'll check more.

You may want to wait for your local reptile expo too, as a place to get that particular Exo Terra. They definitely will save you on the tax.

I won't be able to go to any expos for this year so this seems to be the best I'm gonna get:/ I was hoping but it is out of reach for a while.

Plus the closest "local" expo to me is 4 hours away in all directions(which is why I have such trouble going)

Try "Pangea" Reptile Supplies then. Too bad about the expo's. I understand though.

Although I have chosen not to pursue this enclosure(I realized it would be irresponsible considering the situation I am in at the moment, and the processes of wanting it led to plotting of getting another snake. that would not be approved of by the folks), I have decided to make the the stand for storage space and to help save space in my room when I do decide to upgrade or make an addition.

All of your opinions mean a lot to me and I thank you.

I suppose that's the end of this little thread XD

Awe man! Well sounds like you made the smart choice. When you do make the stand, post it so we can see how you did it.

Well, I'm hoping to get the materials today but it's gonna be a while before I can. It is basically 2x4 s and wood screws that I plan to get wood putty, sanders, and wood stain to make it look nice. Also probably some thin wood to go across the top of each shelf to make it a flat surface.(need to look into thatpart more)

I will certainly post when it is done though.

I lucked out. I was going to get it the 25 but guess what! It was 50% off instead of 30% off(when I first saw it) so now instead of $153.99 plus tax, I paid $122 with tax! Yay!
