Well I'm finally getting a Yellow Tail Cribo. I've been wanting one for quite some time. It's hard to find a captive bread one though. Found a beautiful female out in Texas and jumped at the chance to get her. Sent payment today and will have her Tuesday! I'm quite excited. Here are some pics of her from the seller.

Ha, I have no experience with drymarchons, but I've read they leave behind some serious waste.

I've heard the same thing, apparently DM's have a much faster metabolism than most snakes, and the smell is apparently unique too. Looks like a nice one though, how old is it?

She hatched in 2014 and is approximately 4.5' long.

Odor depends on diet mostly, the fast metabolism is what most people mention. Have you figured out what type of substrate your gonna use.

The seller said she's been kept on aspen bedding since hatching. I use aspen for all my snakes so I'll use it for her as well. I'll put a humid hide in her enclosure as well to help with her humidity requirements.

The seller feeds her a varied diet of rats, chicks and fish.

Sounds good, the best experience of cribos is feeding them, like Americans at Golden Corral

She arrived this morning in great shape. I gave her in a temporary holding tub slowly warming up bc she was a bit cold. I'll post pics later once she warms up and I transfer to her regular enclosure.

I totally agree. They almost look like some type of Elapid.

I fed her this evening and it was quite exciting. She literally threw herself out of her enclosure to get at the mouse. Never had a snake with that type of full body lunge feeding response. Luckily I had hemostats because my fingers and/or have would have been on the menu for sure.

Here are two pics I managed to get today after work. She's quite a handful to get out of the enclosure without getting bitten several times. She's calmed down after a few minutes and handled well.

I think she might be going into the beginnings of blue. She looks a bit dull and her eyes are slightly fogged over and not crisp black.

My cribo has zombie eyes. It will be her first shed with me. Can't wait to see her in some fresh skin.

Very nice, that's an awesome looking snake. I've been looking into Drymarchon myself lately, black tails most specifically. I can't wait to see how yours grows out, congrats!

I saw those and want to lunge but I think it'll be a 2017 addition as I just don't have the space for a new guy just yet. Certainly looking forward to the experience though :D
