Hi Everyone,
I am getting ready to move my 10 month old boa from a 16 qt tub to a larger enclosure. Today at Staples I found a tub on sale for $9.00, so I picked it up... it's a little larger than I need but I figure if I clutter it up enough it will work. It is essentially a very tall 28 qt tub, which will probably be fine since my boa is still small and he likes to climb!
Anyway, I am wondering if this lid if secure enough. It has locks on the handles similar to "Really Useful Boxes" but the plastic itself is not quite as thick so the lid as a little more flex than a normal RUB.
This is a picture of the tub:

And here is a picture of how far (we a decent amount of effort) I can pull the lid from the tub with the locks engaged... I can get it to be about a 1" gap at most.

Does anyone think the lid needs extra reinforcement? I will admit it takes quite a lot of force to create a gap, not to mention the compression it would put on the snakes body if he tried to squeeze through that (if he could manage to create a gap in the first place).. but I know snakes are sneaky like that haha.
My boa is heavily central American influenced and is still very small (2ft, 124g) and won't grow much past 4.5 ft... although maybe its his small size right now that makes him more likely to escape..?
thanks!
