Pretty much done with the new tree boa build. Added live plants today, heating, ventilation fan and lighting. Still thinking about adding a background that covers the back and half of each side. Not sure what to use. Will most likely house an Amazon Tree Boa or two. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

It looks awesome! I've gotta ask though, did the stand come with that little etching on it or did you somehow do it? Everything looks wicked though for the lucky snakes that'll end up in it!

Man, that is a GORGEOUS set up!

I cut out a snake stencil in the door. Then got a piece of small glass and some stained glass paint and colored it. Then installed a small LED bulb under the cabinet that on the same timer as the lights. It looked kinda bland so I did that to add some flare. Wife still doesn't want it in the living room, lol.
I have a planted Anole community tank and a 80 gallon all plant vivarium under the TV already. I guess 3 in "her" space is too much. It's OK my parrots, crested geckos and olive pythons need the company.
Awesome enclosure.
I believe you did have the base included, per Tiny Boidae's question.

Yes sorry the stand was included. It was solid all the way around. I cut out the front and added the door. Also some surge strips and access holes in the back for cords and future misting system tubes.
I gotta say this is a stunning enclosure. How do you have the wood mounted? Are they siliconed. Also I love the snake cutout. I dont think enough people decorate the outside of their cages. I recently built a wooden enclosure and put a snake stencil on the sides. It just gives it a little more pop and pazazz....even though on mine, being on the sides, wont be seen very much lol. Point is I like the creativity.
Also how do you have the heat lamp secured? Also also, what are you using for a ventilation fan? CPU fan?

The logs are screwed in from the outside via screws. Picked up a stepping drill bit to easily drill holes in the acrylic (best drill-bit ever for Acrylic, zero worry about cracks). That way I can place them where ever I like. The cage itself is a little short on ventilation so extra tiny holes won't hurt it.
The heat lamp is also secured through the acrylic via long screws with nuts and washers. There is a large size hole cutout that a good portion of the heat lamp sticks through. I was worried about having a ceramic heat emitter in the dome in fear of the plastic getting hot or warped but the plastic is cool to the touch all the way around the dome. There is also a metal screen covering the end of the dome.
The fan is a larger size (120 mm) PC fan I had laying around. Up to this point there has been no need to have it on but its ready if I ever need it. I put it on to replace the dead on and cover the hole. It has a proper grate cover to protect things like noses and fingers from going into it.

Awesome looking tank, I'm still trying to be successful with a planted terrarium. A lot harder then I thought. Keep us updated with the additions.

Have you looked into Ahaetulla prasina? They are pretty neat. It is also something a little different than a GTP or ATB. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love both of those snakes, but the Ahaetulla prasina are something that isn't seen as much and are super cool.
p.s. Awesome setup!!! Whatever you decide to house in there will live an awesome life!

I would be all over the Asian vine snakes or vine snakes of any type but the need to feed anoles is a major pain for me. I assume they don't come frozen thawed? I have zero experience with lizard eating snakes and have no local source that will sell them as feeders.
It really sucks because that was my first thought and even my 15 year old son said lets look at those.

Yea they definitely have different care requirements. I know some people that have converted them to rodents but it is less common. I have also seen people feed them live fish, which may be a little easier. Although I read an article somewhere that feeder fish have a enzyme in them called Thiaminase that is apparently bad for them. I have no experience with lizard eaters either, just always thought they were awesome snakes.
I haven't seen anywhere near me sell anoles as feeders either. Most places have them, but sell them as pets which makes them a very expensive food item. I would think you would be able to find frozen anoles somewhere though. Probably pretty pricey.
Keep us updated on what you choose to put in the cage!!

They'll also eat house geckos but still depends where you live. I had one but it was already converted to rodents. Very cool looking snake. I'd look into another expect I don't have a source of feeder lizards either.

All signs pointing to a little over a year old female Biak Green Tree python. Found someone local selling one. Should be getting her tomorrow. Going from a small-medium exoterra to this cage. Lot of exploring to do.
Any GTP pointers greatly appreciated.

Yearling Biak Green Tree python settling in. She is in deep blue. I will get pics once she sheds. She is a feisty biotch. Heavy mix of neonate yellow and green. She is a little lost in the cadilac sized cage but is out and about exploring and getting her bearings.

Do they change colours as they age?

Yes. I have seen some change fast at around a year of age and others that are still changing monthly after 5 years.

Number one GTP pointer from me is handle them only if essential to do so and NEVER forceably remove them from a perch however gentle you think you're being.
The prehensile bones in their style that allow them to lock round branches are incredibly delicate and easy to damage through what would be perfectly normal handling for a 'normal' snake.
Stunning snakes though. One day I'll own one! Oh and where are the pictures?!

Wow didn't know they were that fragile. I better just admire from afar.

They can suffer serious injuries - collapsed spine or a prolapse - particularly when young. The bones in the spine act like a rachet that locks in place. When you forceably unlock them from a perch you can snap or damage the rachet bit of the bones.
GTP's are a genuine display snake!

Still working on getting some decent shots. I am learning the hard way that an overly planted cage is a great place for a yearling to hide. She went down inside the spider plant and wrapped herself around it. Hadn't seen her in a week. Now suddenly she is wandering out and perching in the open. I guess she is just settling in. She went from a Exxo Terra cage to this beast so I can't blame her.

Very, VERY nice! As for the back have you looked into the flower pot liners? It's coco fiber. I got some for a few of my tanks. It comes in rolls and you can just cut it to size. Just a thought lol. I love the looks of it with or with out the background and sides!! Beautiful :)

Best I could do. She is finally out and comfortable. Just coming out if blue and grumpy but she let me take a few pics. Next project, getting her to eat frozen thawed. She was eating live but knocked out. Not down with that crap.

Main thing with f/t is to get the temp correct. No reason she shouldn't take those if she was eating fresh killed. I actually use my laser to make sure the f/t mice are at 73F, which is what a live mouse shows up on the I/R gun.

Whoa, that's a pretty snake. She looks like she has an attitude. :p
If you're still looking for a background, you might look at petbackdrops.com because they have reasonable prices, a good selection of themes (some of which are vertically-oriented) and will print/cut to fit your particular dimensions. They take a while to ship but I've had good luck with them. Have also used deepbluethemes.com and they have an out-of-this-world selection but their prices are very high.
I got my ball python to take F/T by thawing the mouse in warm water, toweling it dry and then opening its mouth. For some reason they really like the smell of a rodent's saliva. At the last moment I would hold its face up next to the heat lamp for just a few seconds to get it nice and warm, then present it head first. I also had to do a little puppet show to make it look like it was struggling in the tongs, but since yours is taking stunned mice you can probably skip that step.
