Crawl cay x common. That tanks 4 foot long at a guess I'd say he's 53inches long. His tail goes round some aswell. He's just turned 2. What size am I looking at here when he's 5. On a normal diet and tempature.

What size cage depends on the floor space, if that's a 4'x2' he can stay in there until he's 6'. If he gets bigger than that, I'd go ahead and bump him up to a 5'x2' or 6'x2'.
If you mean what size he'll be at 5 years, who knows? There really is no telling. He could still be 53", he could be 6', he could be bigger. It all depends on his growth rate and genes.

I don't see much crawl cay in him personally, very nice looking animal don't get me wrong.. But if he is 53" already at 2 years old he is most likely not a dwarf. My 7 year old Dwarf boa male is only 38"ish and he's fully grown. About what size he could get, i agree with bigsnakegirl.

I'm was meaning, what size he would be when he was 5. If he does hit the six foot mark I'll get him a 6x2. I got him from a place called butterfly world when he was 11 months old. He was in a Tupperware box that was 10inches by 4inches. He was on rat pups and at a guess would have been 18in long. He has went from about 18in to 53 in a year and from rat pups to medium rats. I was wondering if he was a dwarf at all now and have myself a common boa. I don't know the lineages of the parents, but was told he was a dwarf. To be honest the place I got him from probably couldn't even count to ten just useless c#%ts. Anyway I'm never going to find out what he is, but I can say he's a beauty and am very happy with him. His dad was meant to be a common boa and his mum a crawl cay. Just checked my diary. Hard to see any dwarf ( crawl cay) in him at all now.

He is a good looking boa regardless of his blood. Most males average 6' ish unless you've got large blood, unlikely to get above 7'.

Yeah that's enough common boa to wipe out the dwarf genes of the Crawl Cay. Why they bred the two together (if they did), is beyond me, but yeah. That much common boa blood isn't going to keep the snake small, it will most likely get to regular common boa size.
3' in a year is still rather extreme growth, even for a common, how are you feeding it? It's within reason with a heavier feed schedule, it's not too too insane just a little more growth than is average with a proper conservative feeding schedule.

I didn't know that the common boa in him would wipe out the dwarf in him. The butterfly world is a butterfly farm , with reptiles now ( they take in unwanted reptiles ). They had the two boas in a big tank. When I went back for a visit they had a litter of about 20 babies and when I asked what they were doing with them they said they are giving them away to schools, pet shops, when I said I'd buy one they said just make a £10 donation. They said the dad was a 8 foot common and the mum a 5 foot crawl cay. They had no plans on breeding them it just happened. I've not power fed him he's always been on one rat a week. He's only been on mediums for 3 weeks. If he hasent passed it through after 7 days I'll wait till he's pooped till be gets his next one usually ten days. He's never refused a meal.unlike my ball python he ain't ate since October ( still in mating mode) . His temps are 91 on the warm side and 85 on the cool side , at night they drop about 4 to 5 degree's.

8ft bci is a really big boy either he is an extreme example or he is a bcc. My boa is just over a year and a tiny noodle by comparison. You might end up with a boa pushing 8ft and thick which if you're okay with no problem.

I originally wanted a common boa, not a dwarf. I took to Zeus ( his name ) very quickly. I remember seeing his parents but they were both coiled up together in the water tub. They were big from what I could see. It definitely wasn't a bcc from the colours it was darker like a common and the female was lighter. The women said they were unwanted pets and had to put them together cause they didn't have any cages big enough to put the male in. I've always wanted a Burmese python but they get to big , if I was a single guy with no kids I would have one but I wanted a medium snake so boas fitted that bill perfectly. If he gets to 8 feet then great. I'll get him a 8 foot tank aswell. The only thing the place got right was the sex but like I said I don't really care what his blood line is he's a gem.

Ive got an 8 ft male common and he's still shedding every 7-8 weeks at 7 years old. He's grown 20 inches in the last 2 years. He doesn't get over fed but just keeps growing!

You don't need to powerfeed to get that growth. I was just saying it's a heavy feeding schedule. Boas are extremely slow growers, and they only grow as fast as they do in captivity because they're generally fed very heavy feeding schedules (not powerfeeding, that's a whole other ball game). Properly fed, slow grown boas will be 2.5'-3' at 1 year, 3'-4' at 2 years, 4'-5' at 5, so on so forth. 5' at 2 years is rather large, but not overly large if you're feeding it in the conventional heavy feeding way.
Big prey items that leave a bulge with scale separation cause faster growth than simply spacing them closer together, doing both and feeding multiples is when it's considered power-feeding.
Boas should be fed meals from birth that leave either no bulge or a bulge with no scale separation, this is why it's usually best to start on mice. Babies can be fed either every 7-10 days or 10-14, it's up to you. At a year, they should be fed 10-14 days, and once they turn 3 they should be fed every 3-6 weeks.
