So as some of you know I'm looking for an IJ carpet. When it comes to see carpets they're seems to be a lot of crosses IJ x jag, ij x bredl. What I don't know is are these crosses just visual difference or are there size, behaviour changes? I have zero interest in breeding carpets so I'm just looking for a healthy pet/display snake.

Those are crosses and will get bigger than a normal IJ, especially the bredli cross as bredlies get pretty big. What you want to look for is just a morph. You can have an IJ jag, but an IJ jungle jag is a cross with a jungle (the 2nd smallest carpet but still a bit large if I remember right).

As far as I know, the only pur IJ morphs are jags, zebras, and caramels and any combo of those morphs.

Hope this helped! =)

I don't know much about the carpet morphs but an IJ x Bredli isn't a morph, I believe it's a hybrid since they don't naturally intergrade. I found this link on carpet morphs that I thought was pretty cool.

Do the ij x jungle cross create a much larger snake? What would be an appropriately sized cage?

The IJs and jungles are two of the smaller carpets but they can still reach 5-6ft. I'd go with a 3x2x2 minimum but prefer a 4x2x2 . I'm planning on putting mine in 4x2x3s. I love to see them climb and perch in high places.

IJ jags are not pure IJ. Jaguars were founded in the coastal carpet pythons.

What would be the size/cage size for an IJxjag , jungles etc. Would a 4x2x2 cover the base? What is their adult length?

Hey guys this is my first post in the forum and thanks for answering dozens of my previous questions I've scoured the web for. Anyways I'm starting a project to build some snake enclosures for my jag and another carpet I wanna buy. They are gonna be 4x2x2 enclosures so you should be fine with that. The rule I've heard is length and width of the tank should be about the length of your snake.

Most IJ/jungle/jag carpets are between 5-8 ft.
