Just pulled the trigger on this lady about a week ago. 4.5 months old and 232 grams. Entering her into a future breeding program to produce some Enchi pieds, super enchis and ivories. She already shed for me and took a f/t rat pup.

Yay!!! I have grown fond of some enchie combos lately. And I looooove my ivory girl. =)
Don't think I've ever seen a super enchi though.
Anyway, congrats!

Very nice, i don't know much about balls and a lot of them look the same to me. That looks like a normal to me, probably the reason i'm getting rid of mine.

Yeah, beautiful. The supers are more of a brighter yellow from the beige of the Enchi. Usually coupled with black dots the supers seem to get brighter hues of yellowing with the black dots turning brown. Co Dom Enchi pairs very well with recessives and other codom genes.

Understood. Sorry to hear that you are getting out of ball pythons. There probably is something else in the hobby out there for you. Thanks.

A different view of her with indoor lighting. Nah, no normal here. Lol. The spot of blood was from the rat pup.

Cool. Gotcha! So many awesome species as subspecies that originate from that part of the world. Congrats.

Couldn't say it better myself! ^_^
I was the oppiset though. I didn't like BPs at first, seeing them all looking the same and all the hype about feeding issues and just how common they were. Then I got my first one...and just...down hill from there lol. I have a 'cap' though. No more than 3 males and 6 females for a total of 9. XD
Reptiholic indeed!

Diamonds are next, not that i don't like BP's i just don't know enough about the differences, there are so many that look like normal's to me

I agree with you, but the ones I like are very obviously not normals. I love my lesser bee and ivory. The Mojave I am getting is about the most 'normal' I'll get most likely. Then I also like bananas and g-stripes. The 2 other males I want are a banana mojave and a butter or lesser g-stripe. I adore BELs so that will be what I want to make the most of if I ever decide to actually breed lol.

Actually, the normal ball python is the backbone of the hobby/industry. Most breeders and serious hobbyists keep at least one or two normals in their collections. Even when trying to prove out mutant genes and dinker genes the normal ball python is included. Not to mention those normals that are het or double het for genes that are being bred to incorporate into a collection. I have one normal and three others that are double het for pied and albino. Just my take on normals.

We weren't knocking normals Albert, just agreeing about our opinions on them. =)

Nice critter AL. My very first snake was a normal BP so they'll always have a special place in my heart but I love what they've done with morphs. BELs, Pieds, and Mystic Potions are just a few amazing examples.

Thanks mac, I saw your awesome albino ball python. The enclosure looked very naturalistic and top notch. How are you heating that enclosure?

Oh! Ok. That's fine, I just wanted to expound on my views on the normal ball python.

Thank you mystic, I can't wait to get her up to breeding size for some of the projects I have in store for her.
