Hello to all out in the reptile world! Just wanted to drop a line to say that we are still here. We had some people call and comment on our absence for some time. Our website was down for a day due to a server change and I guess some people thought we had disappeared.

Everything is going very well here regarding breeding. We hope to have as good a year as we had last year but we don't like to count our hatchlings before they hatch, so to speak.

Jayne and I have also ventured into another business. Jayne has been a fitness instructor for 23 years and decided that she wanted to start her own studio so within a very short period of time the plan came together and we secured a loft in a 120 year old building. It was very much in need of repair so with limited funds and lots of passion we started to renovate. (Hey Jeff...I even did the drywalling! You'ld be proud!)

It is a Pilates and Yoga studio situated in downtown Peterborough. After 2 solid months of a lot of hard work, we opened our doors. We produced 3 TV commercials which we did ourselves as well and were greeted by an overwheming response. It is called 'Jayne Markus Studios'.

It has been a terrific experience for both of us and I only managed to break one thing in the process. LOL! But I did learn what it was like to shoot a nail gun through my finger...but that's a whole other story.

Also, 2 weeks before opening and 4 days before the shoots for the commercials, Jayne was attcked by a neighbors dog and it bit her in the face and pulled a good portion her upper lip off. Jayne is doing fine now. She is the kind of person that doesn't feel sorry for herself and she persevered. The lip is almost back to normal.

Anyway, I just wanted to kinda fill you in and thank those that have helped make our first year of ball python breeding a great success. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't visit SSnakess.com and catch up on what's up.

Hope you all have a fantastic year!

The before and after links are below if you care to see our studio.

Thanks again

Mark and Jayne

Good to know all is well with you guys :) Congrats on the new venture & studio, all that hard work was well worth it, the studio looks fabulous!

I'm really sorry to hear about Jayne getting bit, and on the face of all places... OUCH! Very glad to hear she is well and healing up okay. By curiosity, did you pursue the owners of the dog in any way? Doesn't sound like a dog that should be let outta sight.

I'm glad that everything is going well, excluding the dog and nail gun incidents. :(

The studio looks great! What is it above? I lived in Peterborough for a spell and would someday like to go back. It's a great town.

Let us know when the commercials air. I get CHEX on sattelite.

Thanks for the comments.

The owner of the dog had to have him in quarantine for 2 weeks I believe. The police could do nothing because the dog was on their property. Jayne was invited an by the neighbour when it happened.

Although we were told the dog was up on all it's shots, it was NOT! NO RABIES! This added even more to Jaynes stress level because the dog, a mutt, had never been known to act this way before. Also, we have not heard anything from the neighbour since it happened.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks Corr!

If you remember the famous Red Dog Tavern. We are directly across the street at 188 Hunter.

We only ran our commercials for 7 days prior to our open house, so they will not be airing again until we have our official Grand Opening gala sometime in the Spring. We still have a minor touches to complete and we want the snow to be gone. Can you arrange that please!?

Hehe, I never went in the Red Dog... not that I can remember anyway  . The Pig's Ear was one of our hangouts.

Sounds like a good spot and you guys seem to do things the right way businesswise. Good luck!
