Thankfully the beardie I had never got scared enough to do something like this. I never knew they ran on two legs when frightened.

Looks hilarious - but this beardie is actually scared out of its mind. Someone was very irresponsible to put a Tegu near a Beardie.

Uhh, poor beardie! But you're right, I never imagined they can do that.

It looks like something from a cartoon but yeah I've never seen a beardie move that fast or run like that.

Obviously he feels he is running for his life. I often feel bad for beardies, they are so often poorly cared for but then I remind myself how much work they are.

Am I the only one who feels this is photoshopped?

Just looking at the physics I don't see this being possible, and then if you watch it carefully you'll see how the beardie lifts up at a side angle as if someone above him is pulling on a string. O.o

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's fake.

Aww I hope not it's not being dangled by a string, that makes the situation even sadder.

This is legit they can absolutely run like that. Weather the vid is real or not I dont know but they certainly are capable of running on their back legs.

Ok. I have found a few websites and more videos that support this as fact.

Louisville Zoo's profile on the Bearded Dragon says this: "When fleeing, they will run for short distances solely on their hind legs, with the front part of their bodies held erect."

I also found a thread on a bearded dragon forum where owners were talking about their own lizards running on their hind legs. It seems that, while rare, this is an authentic behaviour they exhibit.

I have also found another couple videos. It looks really weird when they do it.

Well, I didn't know they could do that. But, that's not the reason why I thought the video was fake. It just looks really weird. Maybe it's the video frame rate or something. I've had collared lizards and basilisks in the past that would run on their hind legs, but that beardie video just LOOKS strange. Maybe beardies are just funny runners.

I noticed the side thing too. I still think the first vid is fake, not the rest though.

My smaller Beardie will lift side side like that when I've taken the paper blocker down from between my two Beardie tanks. He tilts just like that when the bigger one is in his line of sight. It's a don't mess with me I'm much too big to mess with posture.

This one seems to have started that process, then said too close too close! Run!!
