Top 3. Too difficult because I like so many different types of music. Jazz, blue grass, blues, 80's UK indie, the odd more recent artist, random cd's I've bought because they were cheap and I liked the album cover and they turned out to be really good, lots of 60's then into most forms of house music from West coast through to some pretty grotty acid techno, hard house and gabba. I've been dj'ing electronic music for 20+ years and love it so much. A real passion of mine.

I'd struggle to pick a top 3 from any one of those genres but I'll have a go. We have a long running radio show here in the UK called desert island discs where famous people have to choose songs they'd be happy to be stuck on a desert island with for ever so thinking of three I don't think I'd get bored of:

Alison Krauss - A Living Prayer (to be fair most of her tracks would do)
Westbam v Red Jerry - Wizards of the Sonic (Matt Darey remix)
Wonder Stuff - Golden Green

I could just air live with those 3 but there'd be so many many tunes I'd miss.

Ooooh this is so hard for my because I listen to so much and my favorites generally change with my mood. I listen to anything from Django Reinhardt [jazz] to Rancid [punk] to Depeche Mode [80's] to Florence and the Machine [no idea what you call that] to Loreena McKennitt [celtic, pagan] to Dir en Grey [Japanese rock, sorta screamy] to Buck-Tick [Japanese Rock]... and that's just what's on my phone right now haha.

Miss Take by Buck-Tick. Probably my favorite song ever. Coyote comes in close second but I'm trying to do one per band and I could make a giant list of favorite BT songs that would work just as well as a general favorite song list.
Everything by Lifehouse.
Over The Love by Florence + The Machine. It's been stuck in my head for days.

It is so, so hard for me to pick favorite songs since it really depends on what I feel like listening to especially since I listen to such a wide variety of stuff from the past 35 years [80's and up].

Also.. Stressed Out <3 My niece used to love Twenty One Pilots like crazy. My sister took her to two shows and they met the band each time. I hear they're awesome in person as well and they had fun hanging out and chatting with them.

Difficult question haha, I have a few musicians whom I very much love:

-The xx
-Passion pit
-Ghost B.C
-Arctic monkeys
-MGMT

Though if I could put my finger on ONE song that I could live by, It would be this: Perpetuum Mobile - Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Whenever I listen to this song, I'm filled with joy. Not sure why.

ON individual songs, my favourite from each would be

-MGMT - Kids
-Passion pit - Sleepyhead
-The xx - Angels
-Arctic Monkeys - Do i wanna know
-Ghost B.C - Cirice

Man, If I could list all the songs I love, then I'd easily hit the character limit.

OH yeah, I have to add these

-Sylvan Esso - hey mami
-Passion Pit - Carried Away (E-603 Remix)

I'm sorry, I'll stop.

Agreed a difficult proposition.
First definitely something by Mastodon, probably March of the fire ants. Second would have to be the Gorillaz feat. Del the funky homo sapien, clint eastwood. Lastly just for all the good memories associated with is Queen, bohemenian rhapsody.

Love threads like this :)
Shoot this is hard,
Probably #1 is proving grounds by Attila or Unforgiven by Metallica.
#2 is Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
#3 is Machine by Born of Osiris

I'm also listing my favorite bands for the heck of it,
#1 Attila
#2 Metallica
#3 Born of Osiris or The Devil Wears Prada
\m/

I gotta say though, it depends on what I'm doing, when Im at home Ill usually play RHCP's or other soft Rock songs, Driving usually includes 90's hard Rock like Metalica and when I work out metal is the way to go :p

Yeah, that makes sense. Who doesn't love a sad song when you're sad? Huh? No, just me? :D Mood definetly affects what I'm listening to.

Bah, my favorites change by the hour I'm sure, and what I say today is my favorite probably won't be tomorrow. Here's a list of what I've been listening to recently (in no particular order):

Dani California + Snow by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Wayfaring Stranger by Johnny Cash
& Knee Socks by Artic Monkeys. (I know it was technically four, but you can't ask someone to chose between two Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. It ain't right).
