I have never had this problem before. I just purchased a baby Emerald tree boa. I have his cage all set up and he has been in it for 10 days now. Tonight I decided to feed him for the first time. I gave him a live rat pinky. He took it right away. YAYYYYY. Well, now he has got the back in of the pinky caught in his teeth. He has been playing with it for about 1/2 hour. Should I help him out or let him struggle a little bit??

UPDATE::: He ate. Took him a little bit, but finally got it down.

glad to hear he ate! :) for future reference if something gets stuck in his mouth again let him figure it out unless it takes a really long considerably time as majority of the time they will fix it themselves, One time my girl had a little substrate in the side of her mouth she kept re aligning her jaw trying to get rid of it and me being a worry pot i went straight in there to help her out without giving her more time to do it herself and she freaked out (because she just ate) and tried to nip me then fled to her hide i felt so bad and learnt my lesson to let her be and sort it out herself especially after she has eaten as they feel very vulnerable afterwards so if something like that happens again give him a while and 9 times outta 10 they fix it just like he did :)

another good thing to remember. it amazes me how that mouse can get down mac's skinny throat. i'll just leave him work that out for himself.

Congrats on the new snake, gotta keep us posted on how he does. I'm very curious as to how his attitude will turn out, they are notorious for having really bad attitudes and with teeth like there's i would hate to get nailed by them lol.

Thanks for the responses guys. After about half hour to 3/4 of an hour, he stopped playing with it and ate it. He is real feisty, and that is good. I have a few snakes that are real fun to play with.....LOL, this little guy won't be to much to handle.

The problem I am having now,is the humidity in his cage. Its killing me. I am playing around with that right now. Sucks being in the midwest during the winter months. Its so freaking dry.
