My local store often does some short care videos about various reptiles and I thought this one would be useful to share for any new Royal / Ball owners.

It covers their fasting

Mine just ate after a 4 month fast without losing any weight whatsoever. It's kind of frustrating still but kind of cool at the same time that they can be so low maintenance.

Feeding habits is something that can be difficult to get past for many people, but the long fasts of ball pythons is certainly some of the most frustrating things to deal with. lol Nowadays, I just look up and ask "why?" and just offer food every so often, but it would be nice if my bp would eat regularly. At least I'm lucky enough he doesn't go off food according to the seasons, each time he's gone off food has either been in result to a stress event or a change in food. If he's eating, he'll eat straight through the winter.

Mine went on an 8 month strike once and lost barely any weight, but he went on a 3 month strike last year and lost over 15% of his weight, which is weird because he's never lost so much as 10% before even during the 8 month strike, so even when you're used to their strikes they'll find something to trip you up with.
