Does anyone know of any Ringneck Snake breeders? I have been having trouble finding any on the web and any input would be much appreciated. Thanks you very much.

I don't know of any breeders. They are difficult to keep alive in captivity as they have a somewhat difficult diet and they stress easily, hence why you don't see them in captivity often. I tried keeping a WC one and was able to keep it healthy for about 8 months. Best of luck, but I suggest just forgetting about it and finding a new snake to keep. Not trying to be too negative, but they just aren't meant for captivity for some reason or another.

Thanks for the input Bandit, after talking to Mike from albinomilksnake I have decided to try a different snake. I am now lookng into brown snakes, male sand boas, or possible african house snakes. I am trying to do a mini 7.5 gallon enclosure and need a small snake to go with it.

Sand boas... Huh? Even for a male, that's a little on the small side. People say "they're so lazy omg I don't ever see them", and don't get me wrong, they're right, but they enjoy a nice bit of wiggle room. My males, I had them in ten gallons and they were restless, always trying to escape and climbing things trying to get out. Obviously they were stressed, so I put them in twenty gallons and they've calmed down considerably. I have full confidence that I can leave the lid off for a week and they'd still be there (not going to test this theory though...). Still, I call them earthworms with teeth for a reason- you never see them. So unless you like looking at a box of dirt, I'd consider other options.

I've tried my hand at brown snakes...it's here and there with them. Some refuse to eat and some will eat like champs. My experience is that even the ones that eat well will stop eating within a year. I'd go with African house snakes out of the ones you mentioned.

I didn't know they were so restless for such small snakes Tiny thanks for the input! I will look more into them then Bandit, I like the looks but It seems like I might just have to up my terrarium size I don't wanna make it so small that it stresses out the snake.

Another vote for African house snakes. They are fantastic little snakes to keep and are very hardy and easy to breed.

I like the look of the house snake as well. Seems to be somewhat underrated also. From what I've read on them they make great pets but don't seem too common.

I'd be tempted by one in I had a small viv that need needed filling.

Just curious, what are the dimensions of the enclosure?

Was looking to do a 12x12x12 for a desktop enclosure but the wife was not going for it, looks like this upcoming season we compromised on a hognose and a 24x18x12 enclosure

Great choice! I'm sure you'll enjoy a hoggie.

I've never seen cb ones. These pretty little snakes just don't do captivity well at all. Many have tried but the most life span anyone seems to have gotten in captivity is under a year. Try some other type
