Came back to the same den in the fall and caught a hatchling and this one. Maybe the same snake.

wow thats about as cloudy of eyes ive ever seen.
Awesome finds! I'm also jealous of the Western Worm Snake as well as the Eastern Coachwhips, Coachwhips are always one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
Desert and/or speckled king
It is a Speckled Kingsnake (Lampropeltis holbrooki). Most of OK was considered a Speckled King/Desert King intergrade zone until recent DNA studies showed Deserts are found no farther east than west Texas (roughly along the Pecos River), and no farther north than central New Mexico. The same study also elevated both Deserts and Speckleds to species status. Reference (http://home.gwu.edu/~rpyron/publications/Pyron_Burbrink_2009e.pdf) (range map on page four).
Miscellaneous water snake. Plain bellied/blotched?
It is a Plain Belly Water Snake (Nerodia erythrogaster). Formerly a Blotched Water Snake (Nerodia erythrogaster transversa), but no subspcies of N. erythrogaster are currently recognized. Reference (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3322375/pdf/nihms365492.pdf).

Neat. I always thought they looked close enough to be cousins one way or another. Thanks.
