I let the wild corn snake go into the wilderness and cleaned the Tarantulas big 10 gallon, and used a nice thick bedding of newspaper shreds.
In a couple of days I'm going to buy her the 20 gallon. She's an estimated 2 years old and real thick and heavy. Shes mellow but not overly lethargic. Right now shes taken to lots of sniffing around.

I noticed she pokes her head up and starts wanting to investigate when I turn music on in the kitchen. Is that good or bad?

Very nice BP. I like the stripe near the tail. Snakes can't hear so I don't think the music should have much of an affect on her. Unless it's really loud and the vibrations upset her :).

actually snakes can hear and propably even better than we do. They catch up vibrations and react very positive towards bass heavy music.

While snakes can in fact hear they can not hear better than humans. The have interior ear structures that can pick up sounds waves but they are not as sensitive as exterior ears. Snakes rely on their other senses much more.

To the op if he is not hiding because of the music than I wouldn't be concerned that you are stressing him. He sounds like he is just curious.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the knowledge.

Life is short, but snakes are long: Can snakes hear? (http://snakesarelong.blogspot.com/2015/09/can-snakes-hear.html)

Nice bp. That's pretty much all I keep and I'm still learning new things everyday

shes in a long (not tall) 20 gallon, refurbished with a new heat pad, a thermo gauge for temperature and humidity and reptibark for her substrate, and a nice matching stone water dish. she seems to like plainness rather than decoration . I just got a sense that her sniffing some artificial plastic plants was a sign of distaste. I also got 3 rats in the fridge but I'm gonna feed her a smaller live feeder mouse during next weeks feeding
