Hi all
Thought I would pop a quick intro on (I have posted on the BC forum but still waiting for it to be moderated).
I had a corn snake until this summer when she sadly passed away. I sort of rescued her. Bought her secondhand (though I hate that phrase for an animal) and didn't really know what I was getting in to.
Long story short she was not the healthiest of snakes and had not been kept correctly (no thermostats for a start), wasn't feeding and was stick thin.
I managed to sort her out just about. She fed pretty well for me eventually but even as an adult wouldn't take much more than a small mouse every two or three weeks and she stayed very thin.
Anyway - I left her viv set up for some months until my wife started to really nag me about it (well to be fair it was setup by my side of the bed in our bedroom) and the other day I finally got round to doing something with it.
Was going to sell it but when I started cleaning it out etc I realised how much I wanted another snake. Some persistent nagging back to the wife and she has succumbed! I was going to go for a BP but then I started looking at boas and I just love boas. The head shape, the size (big but not daft), the marking etc.
So I took a trip to a very reputable local reptile store (not one I had been too but it was truly excellent) and came away with CB15 BCI.
Photo attached - I looked at a few commons, BCI morphs and CA BCI morphs but she really 'spoke' to me.
She's settling in well. No hiding and has taken her first mouse...
