I don't like the idea of putting lights inside the enclosure. Sure it takes up a little more room to have it out of the enclosure but i think overall it's safer on the snake.

I HATE THE WHOLE VARNISHING PROCESS>>>>> GRRRR

It takes way way way too long lol

I hate painting!

I can work 14 hours straight on a cage but will delay the 2 hours of painting i ahave to do for a while cause i dread it so much lol

dom i feel the exact same way. i just finished building 3 new cage. overall dimesions were 5x4x2 imagine painting that white! had to put a layer of primer on first, the 2 coats of white paint. i almost went nuts.

I hate the finishing process!
I have the 6x2x2 all done now, except I need to sand, stain, and apply polyurethane. UGGGH

I totall agree the finishing process is most difficult!

I am going to build a 8X4X3 cage, I hope I can survive the sanding, staining and the most horrible applying polyurethane. I use those gas mask with two filters but still help for a certain extend only!

Cutting straight! I swear my saw is warped! I am to the point of buying specific legnths so I don't have to cut stuff! yea yea, go ahead and laugh. I am so bad, my wife got me a saw guide with instructions not to saw it in half.

Finishing an enclosure is definately the most time-consuming and irritating for me. Whether varnish or paint, by that time I just want to be done.

You know, places like Lowes will cut the wood for you on a giant table saw, so you will have nice striaght cuts. I always have them do all the cuts for me when I am buying my lumber. The only thing they can't do are the plunge cuts (in the middle of the sheet, as in vent openings, etc.).

Also, if you do all of your sanding and painting/staining and poly sealing before you assemble the cage, it is ALOT easier. I build all my own cages (as much for my own satisfaction as for savings), and the only part I hate is the sanding.
