View Full Version : Albino Question
I have a platinum het albino female I am thinking of breeding. The one thing I don't know is if she is listed as a bet albino, am I to assume she is white phase?

Could be that i just got out of bed, but i don't really understand your question? What snake are we talking about? is 'bet' albino supposed to be 'het'? what are you breeding her to?
Sorry, stupid autocorrect changes het to bet. I am thinking of breeding her to a lavender albino motley tiger. I'm just trying to figure out if she is just listed as a het albino, does that mean she would be a white phase albino. From what I've read, the original Clark strain is either white, purple, or lavender. I'm assuming if it is not specified it should be white. Just wondering if you guys knew

White x White = All White
Purple x Purple = All Purple
Lav x Lav = All three colors.
White x Purple = All Lavender.
White x Lavender = White and Lavender.
Purple x Lavender = Purple and Lavender.
Her listing doesn't have to mean anything, she could be the result of any combination. The only way to determine is to breed her. Breeding her to a lavender can only determine whether or not she has a purple gene, if there are any purples in the nest she is Het. Lavender or purple. (If you then want to know which she is, breeding her to a purple should give 100% certainty )
The original Clark strain was started by a WC lavender albino retic and therefore he was able to make all 3 phases of albino through lavender x lavender breedings. In order to see what you'll make you'll have to know what the parents were so you can do the math yourself but if you can't get that information then just breed them anyway and you'll be able to see what phase of het albino is your snake by the outcome of the albino phases in the offspring.
