Looks like these two are getting ready to shed.

Don't their eyes look creepy when they are about to shed!?
I want to blink for them because it looks so dry and painful lol.

El-Ziggy, I really like your Albino Bull snake. I have a Pearl Honduran that I can't for the life of me tell when she's in blue. Her eyes never seem to change, but every 30 days or so she sheds. She also a fussy eater so I can't tell if she refuses her meal because she is in blue or she's just being her fussy self.

Looking good EL, they both seem very healthy and content.

@ Pogie- I love seeing the shedding phase. The temps and humidity in their enclosures is dialed in so they can just do their thing. It also lets me know my babies are growing. :)
@ Jim- I forgot about your Pearl Hondo. You have to share a recent pic of that gem. I know what you mean about knowing if they're in shed. My guy's skin gets just a little opaque but I can usually tell by the cloudy pink eyes.
@ AL- They do seem to be healthy. I think they're content too. Why else would they hang out in the open during one of their most vulnerable times? :)

El-Ziggy, I got my girl to take a large mouse this morning, but it has to be fresh killed which is a real pain in the butt for me. I don't like keeping live mice as they really stink and I hate to kill any animal, even if it is just a mouse for snake food. That said, I usually buy six at a time from Jeff Nix and keep them just long enough to feed them to her. Here's a photo of my Pearl Hondo from last week when she was poking around her cage. The second photo is of my female Ghost Hondo just hanging out and the third photo is my high yellow hondo "killing" a F/T mouse. With the exception of my Pearl, all of my snakes are great eaters and very even tempered with no biting or musking at all.

We can tell when our carpets are going to shed by their eyes, except for the albino Darwin's. Apart from refusing food, it's guesswork with them.

My ratsnakes take food even when in shed.

@ Jim- Your Hondos are smokin! The Pearl is exquisite but the Ghost and the high yellow are both beautiful too!
