Well picked up a new kid last Sunday. A breeder I know had an imperfect ridleys cave racer from her clutch. It's got a small kink on its tail but is eating, shedding, and defecating well. I've been looking for one of these for years but normally they're anywhere from $200-300 each or only sold in pairs. This little gal was $50 so I took a chance and gave her a home. I'm really looking forward to working with this species.

Ooh very nice! So these and cave dwelling ratsnakes are the same thing, right? These are on my want list, though.

Awesome! I always love the beauty rat snake group. Such majestic looking creature. So bad, they are illegal to be kept here... And without any option to make them legal at all.

Yes these are known as ridleys cave racer, cave dwelling rat snake, and ridleys/cave beauty snakes. Othriophis taeniurus ridleyi. She should compliment my tai beauty wonderfully. Beauty snakes in general are probably my favorite species.

Wow! What a great looking snake. How big do they usually get?

I just saw too that you're in Akron, I'm just above you in the Cleveland area. Ever get out to the reptile show out here?

Nice pick up! I was once offered an adult of this species for $400, but sadly I didn't have the room. It's still on my wish list.

LOL yeah me too. So far she has been hidden anytime I'm around. But she's tiny at the moment so I'm not bugging her much. She'll be out when she's ready.

Thank you. About 5-7'. Yeah I go about every month. It's normally the same stuff but I still enjoy just chatting with people and checking out the critters. I like checking out the inverts since my darling girlfriend has pretty much spelled it out that she'll leave me if I bring home a T or a scorp lol.
