View Full Version : How often does a curtus defecate??
Hi again,
Is it true that for a curtus is normal to defecate only 2 or 3 times in a year??
Well, mine has 5 months already without doing the #2... she is 1 year 4 months old, is a very good eater, once a week, with no fail, looks very normal, but I wonder about this issue. What's your experience on it?

2x a year. It will be a traumatizing experience if you witness it first hand as your snake tanks a dump the size of a malamute. For ours, first was a urate the size of a hard boiled egg and then about 30% of our snakes body weight to follow

Ooooh yesss....I have heard of the massive poo and terrible stink that rivals an H.P. Lovecraft novel of horrendousness that should never be experienced by a human nose....lol
Quite often I would give my blood a soak in Luke warm water knowing full well that he would almost always defecate while In there. Then I would just dump the waste into the toilet when he did. But yes he would only go a few times a year.
Hi...!
I did the warm water baths.... but nothing.
I did something I read in a post, which really worked: My blood's substrate is always news paper, so I changed it for regular soil, the same that we use on gardening, and after a couple of hours.... woow!! she did a mega poop !! haha! after that, I only cleaned up the mess and it was all!

Last year I bought a male superstripe ultra breit BST from a guy who also gave me a female superstripe het ultra for free since he thought she was compacted. I took her home, gave her a warm soak & gentle massage and BOOM!, no more "compaction". Best free snake I've ever gotten.
