I went into my balls room to check on him and change out his water and found his hides like this. The funny thing is, the one he's wearing as a hat (i'll be ordering new hides today...boy got fat lol) has been in that position the whole time with that hole facing the front of the cage. The one on the left thats pushed against the wall, I believe is the one that was on his cold side.

So he either pushed the cold side one all over his cage last night or he was in the cold side and instead of switching hides, just shimmied his way over to the warm side of the cage, pushing that hide against the wall. Either way I'm impressed and amused.

Snakes do the darnest things :). I agree it was an impressive feat.

One of my female Balls likes taking one of her hides and wears it like a snail shell and snails all over her enclosure with it.

Thats hilarious. I suspected thats what mine was done for some time now but i havent had any evidence quite like this. I figured they just moved when he was comin and goin due to how light they are. Good times!

Thought I'd join in. Found my bps hot hide like this. He usually rotates it so I can't see into the hide.

Ps sorry about the orientation. Phone does that for some reason.

lol thats great. I've also wondered if my Ball rotates his hide on purpose. Great shot.

Every time i set his hot hide up and position it to face it he moves it just enough I can't see. You'd think he would end up rotating it enough to go all the way around but no. Just so it doesn't face the light. But now it's so snug he lifts it up and can see his scales under it. He is borderline out growing it.

Mine did this a lot at first. I ended up getting a flat bottomed water dish so its hard to tip. Then I "buried" it down a bit...basically just sat it on the bottom floor of the cage and pushed the substrate around it to kind of surround it. Some dirt gets in the water but when you're replacing water every day or so thats hardly a problem. My ball doesnt do this any more so I assume thats what fixed it. Though I also ended up bumping his humidity a bit and at that point moved him into his pvc cage. Point is, he doesnt do it anymore :)
