Both the carpets are eating well. The jungle ate 2 small mice hoppers and the coastal ate a rat fuzzy.

Copy that Pine. The only issue is I bought 50 of these mice hoppers. I actually thought they'd be larger. They average about 4-6g each. The jungle is about 40g. I gave him a small 9g rat fuzzy a week ago. It took him a while but he got it down. I'll give him one of those from time to time. I just want to feed off these smaller ones first. Waste not, want not :). The coastal ate a jumbo mouse so I know he can take larger prey too. He's not ready for the rat pups yet though. I figure I'll feed smaller meals more often to get through the undersized feeders.

We're the same. Luckily for us, we have a range of sizes in our pythons, plus we have the disposal units otherwise known as our sand monitors. :)

LOL, they're only mean to mice and rats. Neither have ever struck at or bit me :).

While jungles can be a little feisty, or cage defensive, coastals on the whole are the complete opposite. We have two that are quiet as lambs.

Yeah my jungle is a little demon lol. But he's healthy, eats like a champ and always on display. So all in all a great snake.

Are your bredli's more red or brown in colour? From our experience, the redder ones seem to be the ones with the satanic disposition.

my male is the one in my profile pic and is more on the red side than the female. shes a little less evil than him but I still need to tread lightly when dealing with her. A few weeks ago I used my hook to get her out and was holding her for 5 or 10 min then I was about to put her back in her home and out of nowhere she latched on to my hand. she tried to wrap up my arm but I tried to prevent the wrap as much as I could because I know if she good wrap around my arm it would be even more of a battle to get her off. It probaly would have been entertaning to watch as I was using my legs to try and stop her tail from wrapping and my right hand to prevent body coils. At the end of it she let go after 3 or 4 min of trying then gave up and let go. Which wasnt bad compared to the male having me for 10+ min before.

My wife still has a tooth in her hand from our second, redder, bredli. Same deal, was fine and then out of nowhere lashed out and struck her.

So, bredli's are essentially a pit bull python? :hmm: I keep seeing folks posting about how bulletproof and generally hardy they are, not so much about their general dispositions though.

There are just as many placid bredli's as feisty ones. We had a browner toned one as our first snake, as calm and placid as you get. Surprising, because we rescued it from a neglected situation. My wife even took it on 2 school visits.
The second one we got was redder in colour, and would strike out for no reason at all, sometimes even without warning.
