Just came across this. Some of you may not have seen it yet.
Who uses a hockey stick as a monopod anyway?

Wow.....that's kinda...er....cool...lol. Is it wrong that I actually liked watching that? I had no clue that rattlesnakes grouped up like that...what kind were they? They look just like western hoggies!

He did get some pretty cool shots...but it looks like he got himself into a pretty dangerous situation trying to get the camera back. I don't understand why people would choose a GoPro over something with a high optical zoom for stuff like this. With my camera I could have gotten shots just as good from a safe distance, without stressing the snakes or risking my life.

I have no idea what a gopro is....but I know I don't have a camera other than my cell phone lol. I'm no photographer! (Though my phone may disagree due to the thousands of pics O take lol)

I enjoyed the video. Interesting that it took some serious "in your face" provocation to get some strikes from the snakes.
Shows me they rather be left alone.

I thought the rattlesnakes were cute. Not that I would get very close.

Honestly I would love to have this opportunity. I wouldn't dare get too close, but I'd love to see so many in their natural habitat. Everyone says how "aggressive" they are but this video really shows otherwise.

I have to admit I jumped at the first strike. Scared my cat, lol :)
But yeah, goes to show what it takes to get one to strike at you....that's a lot of provocation!

they look like movave rattlesnakes to me
They were beautiful and it is amazing how they group up. All I could think about was how bad it would be to fall into that pit though...

Not Mojaves. According to a snake ID group where this has been posted many, many times, they're prairie rattlesnakes.
