I've never been really big on ball pythons. I don't mind them, but they aren't terribly high on my priority list. Yet this little guy at PetSmart caught my eye. He's a nearly 50/50 piebald morph, which is one of the first ball python morphs I saw and envied. I don't care for high white, but 50/50? I'm sold and the price was good. I also had enough extra equipment at home to get him settled in immediately.

However according to his feeding chart he hasn't eaten in at least three weeks, and it appears he is starting to lose his fat reserves. He was acting super stressed out in his display case so I'm hoping he'll adjust much better to the tub I have him in and decide to eat. The tub is just the right size for him. I've dealt with fussy green anacondas and rosy boas that refuse so I'm hoping I have enough knowledge from those experiences to take on this challenge.

I won't be posting any pictures until I feel he has acclimated.

Congrats on the new BP Psych. I really like the piebald morphs. I'm sure you'll get him to eat.

I agree with you on the mid whites being the coolest looking. A pied ball python is my dream snake but I cannot see paying $400 for a pet snake. Hopefully someday I can find a reasonable deal on one. Congrats on the pick up.

Update! Mr. Brian Pumpkinbutt ate his first meal at home very greedily. I found urates yesterday too, so he's drinking. But he ate his fuzzy while it was still alive. D: I'm somewhat concerned about that. It was wiggling its little body as it went down his throat. I feel bad for the fuzzy. That's a horrible way to die.
