Shedding Problem -> Humid Hide?

Okay so as things go, I got the Hognose a new cage, and the BF saw the empty cage and before you know it we have a new member of the family. We brought this little one home two days ago, when we picked him (her? we don't know yet) up I didn't notice that he had an incomplete shed. He had some skin bunched up around his elbow area, it looks like it is tight.

I want to build a humid hide for him but I have no idea how. What can I make it out of? (I think I've heard of people just doing small plastic containers...?) Should I get a wet cue tip and daub it? Any other ideas?

Also is it typical for them not to eat when they settle in? He has not even looked at the meal worms we have for him.

Just like snakes they may take a while to setrle in. Likewise, they won't starve if theu go off food for a while. Leos also brumatw and it's that time of year.

Humid hide is easy. Get a tupperware container that is big enough for ot to walk in and turn around and cut a hole in the top or side. Doesn't matter which really. Not too big though. I use a bit of fire to melt jagged edges as well. You can use moss, paper towels, cocohusk, or eco earth and just check on it every few days to make sure it's not dry or moldy. Most geckos don't 'go' in their hides but still keep an eye out.

Stuck shed can be pretty easy. Don't soak him as it will stress him out. Use some mineral oil and rub it into the shed then gently tug or roll the old skin off. Also...amd this may sound really weird...saliva works too....not saying to lick it or anything, but you can spit on your fingers and do what I mentioned. Please do not use vegetable or nut oils. Because leos are insectavores their digesrive system does not handle any kind of plant content very well.

Also, durring a tough shed I like to give the leo only the humid hide, and put it on the uth to give them a warm humid hide. Works wonders.
