Here is a new Arboreal Acrylic cage I made today. Still need to add a heat mat to the bottom of it.
It measures.

Looks very nice :) I'm also curious to hear what will be going in there....
Wow, thats a supurb display cage, looks like it's easy to clean too. Would you find using a heat lamp or pannel on the back to direct the heat on the perch to provide better economical benifits? this way you're heating the air in the cage where the snake is instead of the bottom of the cage. I'm not speaking from experiance here, just guessing.

Hi Everyone,
I am going to put a GTP or a ETB in this cage.
I am using this cage for a test cage to find the best way to heat it before I put any snake in it. I have done similar cages, so I think a heat mat on the bottom will work fine to heat the cage up and keep the humidity in it. After I work out the bugs I will be selling them on my website.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. :)
Take care
Tom

wow great cage!
I would like to know how u bond the plastic together! I have been looking at building a few displays like that but not really sure how to do about it!

Hi cranwill & Xetox
Acrylic is bonded with a solvent that you just spread on the piece you are gluing, and press the joint together. The solvent actually breaks down the acrylic, and the two pieces fuse together. If you do make your own, make sure to use at least 3/8" material to avoid bowing if you plan on having a high humidity environment.
Take care,
Tom McCarthy
Where do you buy the acrylic?

Hi Kathy
I buy my Acrylic form a Acrylic supplier in my home town. However they do not sell to the public you need to have your own business to buy from them.
Take care
Tom
Hey thanks for all the info if u have any step by step plans I would love to have em, like I said in another post I am putting together a webpage that will have alot of plans for cages and I am always looking for new ones!

Hi Everyone & moosehead,
I have finished my heating & humidify test on my new acrylic cage.
The heat in the top of the cage is 80 to 85 and in the bottom it is 73 to 78.
The heat mats have rheostats added to them. There is one on the bottom and one on the back of the cage which you can see. I have been keeping the humidity at 75 % or higher.
Here are some pictures of the cage.

So if anyone is interested in one I will be selling them now.
I can make other sizes to. You can see more pictures on my website of this cage.
Just e-mail me for a price & shipping.
Thanks
Tom McCarthy
