Yesterday I got pictures from the breeder of the jungle carpet hatchlings I've been waiting for. It was a really tough choice but this is the one I chose. He's eaten 4 times so he should ship next week or the following. He was produced by Nick Mutton at Inland Reptile. I can't say enough good things about Nick and his top notch service, amazing animals, and his valuable contributions to our hobby. Here's my boy Shredder.

That's what im hoping for too G. If he's anything like his parents and grandparents he should turn out nicely. Fingers crossed :).

Thanks y'all. Carpets have grown on me FAST! I've only had my coastal for a week and I've already seen a big difference between him and my colubrids. He's considerably more active, I don't think I've seen him on the floor of his enclosure for longer than a minute, and he rarely uses his hides.

Great choice EL! He looks like a shredder. Haha. A shredder of that food.

He's here. Shredder arrived at 10:15 EST this morning. He was curious but not defensive at all. No striking or musking. I weighed him (31g) and took a couple of quick cell phone pics. I'll get better photos later. He last meal was 9/15 so I'll attempt to feed him in a day or two. I think I'm onto something good with these Morelias. :)

Soooo pretty!!!
Great looking snake. Im pretty hooked on carpets now too. My max is taming down quickly.
But both carpets still hide just as much as any of my other snakes.

Cute little guy! I didn't realize carpets started out so small! You'll have to keep us updated with pictures of how his colours progress over time.

Thanks all. Looks like we're approaching our first sheds. Both carpets have been hiding for a few days now. The coastal is dull but his eyes are clear. The jungle is dull with cloudy eyes. I'm looking forward to seeing their new colors. :)

Most carpets get blue eyes before a shed. Looking forward to seeing the post shed photos.
He's very beautiful :). i never got to see the parents of my girl so unsure how she will colour up as she gets older but can any of you give me some opinions on whether she might get lighter? she's developed a fairly tan back since these photos were taken two weeks ago. thanks :)
