Hey! My name is Alexandria, I go by Alex. I am co-owner of StarDust Scales, and specialize in Brazilian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates Assisi, and a few rare gecko species. We currently work with about 10 different genes/morphs of Brazilian Rainbow Boa including several kinds of Anerys, Hypos, Ghost, Chocolate, Xanthic, and several pattern morphs as well as a couple random snakes including a False Water Cobra, Mussurana and Carpet Python. We had our first litter of 100% Het-Stripe Brazilian Rainbow Boas this year and should have lots of fun and funky snakes popping up in the next few years!!
I'm always excited to see other peoples brbs, so feel free to show me yours as well!!! Here are a few of our more unusual ones
Thanks!!!
Alex

Wow, that second and third are great! And can you maybe post some pics of false water cobra? They are rather rare and I will be happy to see some pics and opinion from a breeder/owner :D

Omg what is that first one?! Need more pics of it! Does it keep the rainbow shine or loose it like some hypos do?

Exactly what I was going to ask! That's a gorgeous snake, we must have more pics!
What kind of projects/goals are you going to be working on in the next few years with the BRBs?
Do you have a website or Facebook page? I'd love to see more of what you work with because I plan to one day have BRB one day.
BTW you have some beautiful animals here.

I see your posts on the FB group all the time.
Minkness, I believe the first one is an anery.

Thanks for all the amazing comments!!
The first one is actually a Ghost! Very few around and it's easy to mistake them for anery when they young.
The second is a high color het hypo
The third is one unique to us, a male named Flash :)
I'm currently working with over 30 brbs, 3 epicrates c. Assisi and 4 e. c. Crassus.
My main brb projects are the Arctic Anery's, Seib line Ghost, Seib Anery, TT Stripe, Lockwood hypo, and several unproven lines and high color lines with extra special extra genetics.
Our fb page is searchable under Stardust Scales :)

FWC as requested :)
Side note.... FWCs are incredible snakes!!! Amazing feeding response and very active and inquisitive snakes. They have great eye sight and often watch me move around the room. I will admit that they are fierce and intense snakes, they are very large as adults and their movements can be very erratic and fast.
Im totally in love, but I probably won't have more than a handful of them at any one time.

I found your site and you have some very nice animals, however, the ghost BRB is my favorite. :)

Thanks DDW!! The Ghost is my favorite too :) his mother is the reason I fell in love with BRBs years ago. Last year I found out I knew the owner of her & I couldn't have been more excited for her first litter. I couldn't be more honored to have him!!!

I like the very red one, if i ever find one in my part of the world, i don't think i could not buy it :)

Haha the red boy is technically a visual "normal" (het hypo) but he's from a high red line (LAMAR). I can't wait to see how he develops, I currently have a gorgeous red adult female who I consider my most red brb but I think he's gonna outshine her :)
You're welcome :)
I usually go for darker animals with high contrasts (or albinos) but that ghost BRB is stunning. Does the ghost BRB keep the same, less or more iridescence?

Ah my mistake thought that was one of the aneries. haha I just recently learned about the ghosts so not sure how to tell them apart yet, although maybe I could side-by-side.

Completely agree with you! I'm also curious to know if the Ghosts keep the iridescence? What is the color difference between the Ghost and Anery when mature? Definitely going to be keeping an eye on your page and I'm very excited to see what you produce in the next couple years.

Very nice BRB's, I also see your posts on facebook. I may be wrong here but I'm going to guess ghosts don't have quite as brilliant iridescence as the darker the snake, the more iridescence they keep. Albino vs Normal CRB makes a good comparison, also CRB vs BRB. Brazilians have much greater iridescence.

bigsnakegirl785- Super common mistake, no worries :)
Here are a couple quick shots of the Ghost and Anery side by side, unfortunately he wasn't being very cooperative this morning so they aren't the best photos but hopefully you can see the difference. When they are first born they look veered similar but the ghost is a bit more pink, grey and white colored, while Anery are more brown, grey and white in the crescents.

In terms of iridescence... The rainbow iridescence is most obvious on the darker parts of the brb. So usually you get a nice sheen off the markings on the head and the crecsents. In general most Brbs gain more sheen as they age because they develop more color for it to reflect off of. Typically darker brbs have the most and lighter morphs like Hypos and albinos have very little because they have less overall color for the rainbow to contrast. But Hypos in particular tend to lose a lot of the shine on their markings due to them getting fairly washed out by adulthood.
This ghost will develop more sheen overall as he develops a pale yellow base color, but the saddles and markings will probably always be the most irridecent part of him and they may get even lighter colored. Realistically in natural daylight all Brbs shine like a spot light though haha
Here a close up of the side of the ghost, shows some of his bullseye markings and the pastel tones. 33043
I'll post some more shots of him as soon as he's a bit more cooperative ;)

My pleasure Sylphie!! And thank you TxScarlet15! I'm super excited to finally be able to breed some of our more rare morphs in the next couple years!
IMO nothing beats the shine of an Anery ... here's a couple of my subadult Arctic Anerys.

...and another of one the Thanatos the Ghost since so many of you asked for more picture :)

You make me want to go get a brb more now(which happens whenever I see such pretty pics of them) I hope to find some at an expo sometime because sadly, I have never seen one in person :( though I'm sure I'd want to take em home with me, I can not have any more snakes in my house though I bet a brb would be the center of attention when family and friends come over. I am interested to see some more of the morphs of the brb because I think I've only really seen normal and those you have shown here.
Edit: decided to just check out the site again and read up on those morphs. I like the wipeout I think it was called but normal with a lot of dark red and vivid black is my favorite still:)

How much are ghosts going for? I'm kinda debating on my next BRB being a hypo, high red, or an anery, although the ghosts look nice if they're affordable.

Sorry about the delay! The two ghosts produced in this litter were selling for about $3k each, and there was one other litter that produced ghost this year but it looks like the breeder is holding them back.
