Help identifying this baby snake

I am in North Central Florida area and we found this baby snake inside of our children's building. It was small, maybe 10" or so but hard to tell as it coiled up in the S position. Very dark in color but with clear dominant markings. This picture is enlarged to show detail. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Eastern water snake. Non - venomous, but nippy and will musk in a heartbeat. Haha. Be sure to release him far away but safely into a area similar to where you found him.

This is a newborn Banded Water Snake (Nerodia fasciata fasciata), it is harmless. It is very common throughout its range and almost always found near water. There are quite a few species and subspecies of Nerodia found in Florida but I've never heard any of them referred to as Eastern Water Snakes.

Thank you. There is no known water such as river, creek, pond, Etc. around the building we found it in. We had however had a lot of rain at that time. We were worried that it may be a baby Eastern rattlesnake or cottonmouth, since both are prevalent in this area.

When I was a kid a fish farm would pay us to catch these in Micco, Florida( south central Florida. Fun to catch but will chew you until you let go. good times
