Or in my case, you pay for what you get for free....
My new albino hoggie girl seems to have an RI....guess who will be going to the vet this friday or saturday....yeaaaaahhh..... -sighs-
Well, they weren't 'rescues' for no reason I guess.

What makes you so sure?

The obvious wheezing with just about every breath? I held her up to my ear and put my ear right against her (she was being calm for the moment) and it sounded gurggly inside with really noticable "hiss" breathing. At first I thought she was just hissing, but it wasn't drawn out or 'forceful' like most hisses.
I'll take her to the vet for a confirmed diagnosis on friday (working 12 hr days again so can't take her after work).

It's good to get her checked out but some snakes are loud breathers.

Really? Well, that's good to know, but I'm taking her and the anaconda male in on friday anyway. He seems to have his mouth open alot and if she 'possibly' has an RI from that place, then he may as well too. I haven't noticed any open mouths or heavy breathing from the other 3 I got previously from the same person, though the BP seemed to have a slight 'whistle' when I first got her. That has since gone away.
Also, this may just be me, but I know when Moko had an RI (my fault for not putting enough holes in his tub and retaining too much moisture) he was more agrivated than usual. So perhaps that may be part of this little girl's bad attitude.
I may be a newb in over their head, but I'm not afraid of a vet bill....it's why I work gawd awful long days....to support the health and well being of my addiction. =)

Just ensure they do a culture.

Sorry to hear of the possible dilemma. If you care to, you may want to bump up the ambient temps a couple of degrees to stimulate their immune response until you see the vet. Only a suggestion. Good luck at the vets office. Hope everything turns out alright.

Temps are already up as far as I'm willing to go. I have the apointment set for thursday because the reptile vet isnt in on fridays, soooo, I'll be leaving work a little early to make sure I get there on time.

Yeah. I'm trying not to stress out about it too much. Just one of those things I have learned to accept with all animals, and ESPECIALLY rescues. Got my most recent cat for free as well, still had a 300$ vet bill because of a flea infestation, scratched eye, and ear infection. He's so worth it though, as they all are. =)

Hope they all get a clean bill of health.
