help with bedding

Hey guys been awile since i have been on here been very busy, All my snakes are doing great they are growing fast. I have a question I bought some cypress mulch blend from walmart haven't used it yet but the blend kinda worries me so thats y im here its the american countryside cypress blend. what does the blend mean i didnt realize it till i got it home.

I also looked it up it says it all natural with no dyes or treatments but no description of the woods in it

Don't use cypress blend. Its not safe because there could be unsafe woods like pine, cedar, evergreen etc.

I use pine shavings from walmart. It doesn't smell funny and no dust!

Garbage to use for reptiles! It should say 100% cypress mulch. It may be all natural but its a blended combination which makes it unacceptable as a substrate for reptiles. Zoo Med makes a 100% cypress mulch called "forest floor", All living things also has a 100% brand called "twice milled cypress mulch. Try amazon for the other brands for better pricing. :yes:

Albert is 100% correct. Stay away from anything that says Cypress blend on it. Don't use pine either. I just don't trust it, even the kiln dried pine. You never know if something was missed and there may still be oils that could harm the snake.

thank you guys i have been very busy sorry i havent been back on in a while i did not use it i contacted the company before use and they confirmed that it did have pine in it and i took it back thank you all.

You can always find pure cypress at reptile shows, I'm planning to pick up 2 large bags next weekend.
