My guy Apollo was hatched on 7/11/14. I got him a month later at 42g. He was 920g today. He's got a much better attitude too.

Beautiful animal. Judging from the size of him, it's probably a good thing that his attitude has improved;)

Thanks Jim. Funny thing is he tagged me about a week ago which he hadn't done since the first week I got him. He hadn't eaten in 2 weeks while I was moving. I went to open his tub and he s'd up and started hissing. I decided to pick him up anyway and sure enough he got me good. He was fine after I got him out but he did draw blood. I fed him later that night and he's been fine every since. I think he was just hungry. It's amazing how fast they are. :)

Curse you and Apollo, the more I see of him the more I want one, lol. But I doubt I'd find one that looked that good...

Happy bday for Apollo! <3 He's sooo badass in this last pic, haha! And yeah, I know that "hungry bites", and "that's your fault human, because you're not giving me enough mices!" :D

Thanks Sylphie, that's exactly what the problem was too! I won't make that mistake again anytime soon. ;)

Happy Birthday Apollo! Crazy growth in just a year! He looks so badass

I'm wondering; what is that substrate he was on in the baby pic? Looks neat...

Sani chips

Apollo makes me want a bull. I'm just not really a colubrid person though

Thanks Panda. I thought the last picture was pretty menacing too :). As Snoopy said, those are sani-chips in the first picture. I LOVE them. I bought a bag of sani chips and a bag of shredded aspen to see which I liked best and I'd say the sani-chips hands down. Even though the bulls do move it around a lot, it's less dusty than regular or shredded aspen and holds burrows well. I finished off that bag and have the snakes on shredded aspen now but as soon as I'm finished with the bag I've got (2) unopened bags of sani-chips ready to go.

Thanks Em. He's no Loki but he's growing well :). He's actually a little larger than my female bull was at the one year mark. She was 842g and he's 920g. She's a touch under 6ft and over 2100g now and she won't be two until September. I hope Apollo continues to follow suit.

I can see ghostly. I may have named him Ghost if I had thought of it. :)
