View Full Version : xenagama taylori
Does anyone have any great care sheets or websites or books, or particular knowledge of the xenagama taylori? They look really interesting, and seem to be really hard to find info on.

Well based on the info on wikipedia of their natural range and habitat they sound similar to a Beardie as far as husbandry goes. From the description the only thing that seems much different is that these guys like to burrow.
Sometimes for the things that arent popular in the pet trade it can be difficult to find a pre made care sheet. However it dosent mean it cant be done. Think of it this way... The pioneers of the reptile pet trade who were importing snakes and lizards for the first time had no care sheets to work from. What you need to do is understand their niche in the wild and do your best to replicate those conditions for them. The hardest part of this is that in the beginning you may end up with some losses and failures but if its something you really want to do just keep keep trying and learn from your mistakes.
Plus in the end if your successful and are able to breed something you ordered as wild. Anyone else who wants to keep them will be coming to you and you will corner the market for that animal.
