After a long, long trip, she finally arrived, safe and sound. Meet Skye, our desert ball python. Today she's three weeks old, and looking like she will be shedding soon. First thing she did after my husband put her in the enclosure, she drank tons of water. Poor girl, she was so thirsty, after spending almost 48 hours in a shipping box. To those who asked on another one of my threads, the box she came in was marked as 'Perishable', not 'Live animal'.

Thanks :) I think she's stunning, even though she's about to shed.

I really like desert bps, they kinda remind me of a normal which is my favorite morph.

Terrific looking bp! Congrats. I guess "perishable" can suffice. "Live harmless reptile" is the shipping law terminology allowed by the FedEx animal desk. No harm , no foul in the long run.

First, weigh him to get a baseline weight. Then , based on that, get a prey item that is at least 10 -15% of his weight. Usually a rat pup is a appropriate size for a yearling bp. However, based on weight he may be able to take a rat weanling. The upper most of his feedings should be 20%. :)

Alex I know youre hoping or someone to give you the answer you want,
but you should have really researched WHAT to feed the snake before purchasing him. 90% of people are going to tell you rats.

when your python gets too big for hamsters, its going to be really hard to switch thats all.. and I would suggest prekilling them.. rather than live feeding.. I wouldnt want a snake to be bitten by a hamster..

Yes.. they will be prekillild.. cos i will breed and freeze at the right size.. so they dont get to big before he gets to them :)
i know.. but my dad dosent think it will be hard.. and since it is posible.. ill give it all ive got.. :)
