Ok so I'm definitely not going crazy trust me when I say I have witnessed and logged down the times she does this.
Every night when I come home I find that any wiring leading into the cage has been pried of the walls.
So I have a live streaming camera set up in my JCP's tank and after reviewing footage I have found that everyday around about the same time she wakes up and pulls the thermostat cords off the walls. As soon as shes finished with that she goes back to bed.
She will then watch me as I reattach them in a different way.
I feel like she takes dismantling them as a challenge like its a game.
Its adorable but frustrating at the same time.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced behaviour like this

One of my snakes loves, absolutely loves to pull the thermometer/hygrometer off the enclosure's inside wall. She goes for it every night, wraps around it and waits until it gets slowly pried away from its velcro and ends up falling in the enclosure, with her clinging to it. If I fail to replace the thermometer on the wall, she will just take it with her the next night and guard it dearly in between her coils in one of the hides.

Buy wireless items. Or just deal with it.

I know it sounds rude but it's really your two options.

Hahaha there's got to be a reason for this behaviour. Maybe its their way of rebelling a little

Drill two holes in the wall(or columns of two holes). Zip tie the cord... no snake will be able to move it.

You can see there are still a few rows I could zip tie but it seems to be stable enough with one.

^^This. I do this, but my probe is zip-tied to a branch. Works pretty well.

I deal with it fine I just want to know if others have experience similar things and what their opinions on why it occurs are

I switch up how i do it every night but I dont want to use overly strong tape in case it gets attched to her and stresses her out and glue isnt an option because removing it later on will be a nuisance.

In that case get a bottle of silicone or lexel and glue the length of the cord onto the wall. I think lexel would be the better choice for glass.

I'll pretend to be Aaron for a moment. Do NOT use tape.

Appreciate it! I just learn these things from experimenting. I'm sure there are lots of other ways to do it as well.

Try using hot glue. It holds well and removes easily with a razor blade.

or...alternative theory...your snake is nocturnal and semi-arboreal. they climb at night. your thermometer cannot support her weight and falls off...when she falls, she is startled and the coils tighten around whatever she's holding on to (thermometer).

or your version...whatevs

Now that you mention it yes it does. I didn't think of them when I was trying to find a picture. A few of their album covers would have fit the bill. I have most of their albums.

Children of Bodom rocks! I am looking forward to their new album later this year.
