Hullo!

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Tonight I was in bed and heard a very load gurgling noise and ran to my bp's enclosure to find that she was tightening and releasing her muscles almost like an accordion, with her mouth gaping. I saw her trail behind a very unusually wet stool with bits of blood. I noticed yesterday that she had a tiny bit of blood on her vent while I was helping remove the excess shedding skin from her tail. I put a small bit of vaseline on the vent.

I was very shocked to see this from her as she normally seems very healthy. She is eating appropriately sized f/t mice. Her humidity and temperature is the same as normal. She has no visible mites or scratches. I've thoroughly replaced and disinfected everything in her cage. I also did that with my BCI in the same room as a precautionary measure.

I'm hoping this is nothing too serious and I am keeping a close eye on her, but may not be able to get her in to see a vet this week. Any help or advice is very appreciated!!

This is usually a sign of endo-parasitic disease caused by lack of clean drinking water. Hookworms, protozoa and/or amoeba. While some can be treated successfully with oral Flagyl (Metronidazole) that you may be able to buy online without a prescription, others require prescription medication. Start by cleaning and disinfecting your snake's water bowl, rinse it perfectly before refilling, and clean the entire enclosure (no harsh chemicals).

I agree that it may be endoparasitic but with the bloody stool it makes me think hookworms which is a very common and easy to treat parasite. The thing is you want to have a fecal float done to identify that you are treating the right parasite. If the symptoms continue make a vet appointment.
