Okay so I traded and have the little carpet python. He is a male and is very very small. Not sure if they are supposed to be this thin as babies. He did leave a little feces last night so must be eating.

Also what size should he be eating?

He's fine. Carpet pythons are naturally skinny, and even as adults are thinner than most boids of the same length.

Thanks, what size mice should I get. I was thinking fuzzies or small hoppers?

No mice. Start him on rats asap as carpets get easily stuck on mice. There is a term we call those types: mousers. When your carpet is full grown you will not enjoy feeding multiple mice just to make a meal.

I would start him on fuzzy or rat pups. Rat pups might be a bit large for him, so if you go that route you'll need to wait a big longer inbetween meals. I think fuzzy rats are your best choice for now.

I think he is going to put on the weight he needs to and be a stone cold rat killer. Haha. He is very handsome. Congrats.

Thanks, I hope he gets more browns on him. I love the IJs with lots of brown. The pics dont show it but he does have some nice brown on his sides.
