They are cool but keep in mind that they lose their awesome color within months.

I love the babies, and I always love to see animals that have drastic colour changes as they grow, but...adult ringed pythons are kind of bleh in my opinion. Some nice iridescence, I suppose, but that's not enough for me to take notice. Maybe Savu pythons would be worth looking into? They hatch bright orange and turn all black with white bellies as they grow.

White lipped!!!! Probably my next purchase. The northern (gold phase) stay on the smaller side, and cbb babies are said to be less defensive and nippy than the species has a rep for. They'll ta me down acording to the way you handle them. Plus the iridescence on the gold is insane. Northern lights on a snake. Never underestimate how cool iridescence can be - I'd love a ringed python for exactly that reason. Water pythons are on my short list too, they look like oil slicks with yellow bellies :).

Philly knows where its at. I've been wanting a white lip for a couple years now. Good luck finding one CBB.

I agree, white lips are stunning animals. No drastic colour change with age, but they look awesome nonetheless. All the ones I've seen have been too snappy for my taste, but I'm not sure whether those have been CBB or WC.

I found a CB black phase at the last expo I went to, around 5 ft. $400. He was calm while in the tub but as soon as the lid came off he was ready to fly out of there. I really wanted it, lol.

They are gorgeous snakes. Are they all that aggressive?

Yes. They're generally very aggressive and very fast.

I wouldn't use the word aggressive. More highly defensive of everything.

You're right, actually I usually correct when someone says a snake is aggressive, I guess I just used that word since it was already in my head from reading it lol

When I saw one at an expo, he was a lot calmer inside the tub than a lot of the more popular species there. The second it was opened up he was ready to dart out and was staring the vendor down. Very defensive. I hear sometimes they're better once you get them out, but I have no personal experience so I don't know how true that is.
