First !! don't worry too much, 80% is not the end of the worls and in fact it's ideal for when it's time to shed. Keep an eye on it and it should go back down by the next day.
56-60% is good overall and it's best to get that higher in the 70-80% when in shed.

now to figure out why ?? what kind of cage do you have, size, top. do you have other heat sources for the cage.
and the heat mat should be under the tank and not in it (just in case)

if you just sprayed the tank before getting the snake back in, that would be normal.
if the water bowl got tipped over a little, that to would be normal

depending on what you are using to get the humidity reading, this could also give you a wrong reading.. usually the little stick ons aren't that reliable..

but for now, i would just keep an eye on things to see if it goes down to a normal setting in the next 24H, if so, all is good and just keep it in the 50-60 range..
if not you just need to get more ventilation in the cage..then fine tuneit to stay where you want it to be.

I will concur with yeelowtang

I would concur with yeelowtang and I will add that if the bp urinated in the enclosure that will raise the humidity. If there was a bowel movement that you can't see bc it's buried under the aspen or just not visible that will also raise the humidity levels. When you spot clean make sure you use a tool to stir the substrate and visualize what's hidden underneath. You may be surprised. Always be suspicious of that when your humidity starts to give you higher readings. Lastly, your ambient temp and humidity in the room that the animals are in will also play into your readings. Invest in a small fan and point it away from the enclosure but in such a way that you get more circulation in the snake room. Stay in peace and not pieces.
