I'm rather new to owning retics. I traded my tiger male for this one here. The guy I traded with told me he was 100 percent mainland. But the guy is a little sketchy, and I don't think he knows what he is talking about. Any thoughts on what type of retic this is? I'm not an expert.

Maybe a yellow head bali? Otherwise to me looks kinda normal but i dont know much about retics. Age and suze would help too!

How old do you estimate he is?

The previous owner said he was about a year old. He is around 4 foot now

I'll start by pointing out that balis are infact "mainlands" which are simply a term used for the nominate race of retics; M. R. Reticulatus. That being said its 100% not a bali. It appears to be simply a normal captive retic.

I agree 100%. No yellowhead there. Looks like a Java to me.
