Well I just finished up school for the summer. Yesterday I had three finals. To make my day a little better I purchased another snake. Any guesses as to what it could be? Here is a hint, it is small and colorful. I am really excited about him. I am letting the future wife come up with a name for this one, so we will see how that goes. Hopefully I can began to set up his natural vivarium this weekend. He will be in another, smaller tank for awhile, but I want to get the plants established before I introduce the tiny dragon.

I'm thinking it's a garter snake of some variety?

It is a neon blue California red-sided garter from Jeff Benfer. Well done guys. He will be here Tuesday.

He got here today and is awesome. I can not thank Jeff Benfer enough for this incredible little creature. I was able to snap a quick photo while he was out exploring his new digs. Here is he who has yet to be named.

Very nice. I wanted a pair of these so bad during my garter phase.

Pretty snake.

If I kept garters, I'd have to make a large, bioactive setup, complete with a running stream, pool, lots of plants, fish, inverts, and maybe even a small turtle or something.

Thanks everyone.
Minkness if you were to ever get a deal on one, it would be this time of year when there are so many babies running hitting the ground.
Eminart I am setting up a bioactive tank for him just not quite to the extent you would want. Sounds like a cool idea though.

Fantastic pickup! Jeff is the best and what he produces is high quality. Nothing better than that west coast connection!

Thanks. You are correct Jeff is a great person to do business with. From this experience I highly recommend him for purchasing an animal from.
