Someone I know has this little guy for sale, for 20000. I've never seen something like it. What a beautiful snake! I wish I had that much money!

That's crazy. How people come up with these morphs are beyond me and the price tag that goes with them is crazy

Yes, way too expensive. But beautiful.

It's not my cup of tea but to each his/her own. I don't mind morphs but that's a bit extreme to me. I'm not sure what makes it worth 20k either. Maybe I'm too frugal. :)

20k is waaaay too much for a snake, in my view. I would rather try to do it myself, if i had the right ingredients.

Someone offered Brian Barcyk (spelling?) Like 20k for his scaless ball pythons. Possibly more.

The first leucistic ball pythons were rumoured 120k each. The lavander albinonpieds were 75k at first. Plenty of high prices for a "one or two in the world" rarity.

From what I understand, those high prices come from a combination: being the first in existence, being very difficult to replicate, and being expensive to create. So, if my understanding is at least a bit correct, you'd be no better off trying to replicate it yourself. I once heard someone say that expensive morphs are an investment, not a pet. Another words, these are snakes that people invest their businesses in. Investments are expensive, and very risky.

But it's not about the money, right???

Brian at BHB has a good line. "I love the animals and what I do but I'm not ashamed of the money...."
Why can't it be both? Why can't people make money doing what they enjoy? I work with people everyday and help them. Is it wrong that I get paid for that?
Also, this picture bothers me. The GHI and most crosses have some sort of pattern. I have never heard of the blue ghost as well as thebpatternless dark colour looks a lot like auper cinnamon or super black pastel.
Picture has been bothering me too, I could swear I've seen it before but didn't bother looking for until just now. Seems to be a super cinnamon champagne orange ghost by Ken Macek. It's posted on his facebook page back in January 2014. Here (https://www.facebook.com/ken.m.reptiles/media_set?set=a.281779431934589.62916.100003076046 023&type=3) is the page, you have to scroll down a ways.

Yes, I've just seen it. The guy who sent me the picture is from Tampa area, FL. Gregory Scott. He showed me the picture during a Facebook chat, and told me that it's a ghi blue ghost, 20000.

Too bad he's a liar.
Remember that picture that I posted on a different thread (a banana enchi cinnamon)? I found it online while looking at different morphs.
Gregory Scott sent me that exact same picture and said that the guy who owns it wants almost $5000 for it. I actually found out, independently, that that snake belongs to Markus Jayne, from Canada. Emailed him and found out that he's selling it for $3500, but he's not shipping to USA. I don't know what Gregory Scott is talking about.

I don't know who Gregory Scott is. Sounds like a liar and a waste of time.

Someone from a Craigslist ad put me in touch with him, saying that he's a good breeder in Tampa area. I never met him. He shows me all these snakes pictures on Facebook, including the 'ghi blue ghost' and some more.
Anyway, chapter closed.
