So found exactly what I was looking for today at the expo. Shes a western red hognose 66% het albino. Shes just a tiny 12grams but a ton of cute. Since I got her home shes been exploring all over her new house and been doing a bunch of climbing on her branches. I think her name is going to be Gamorrean.

Quick question here. Shes currently in a 2'x2'x1' terrarium. Shes around 5-6" long. Is that enclosure too big for her? She always seems to be laying on the groove for the sliding door as opposed to in the hide or under substrate. Could she be stressed from too much space?

I kinda answered this in someone else's thread. I believe it's up to the individual snake. My guy is still pretty tiny and in a smaller enclosure, but constantly cruises around and watches me from the front of his enclosure. So, while he is still small, I feel he would do fine in a larger enclosure. Other people on here have suggested keeping them in shoebox sized enclosures (usually a tub) but a large kritter keeper should also do just fine (and relatively cheap). Your girl may just need a little longer to settle into her open spaces since most breeders keep babies in smaller racks. You can try to put a sheet over her enclosure to make it feel smaller as well and see how that works. I can't speak for all hoggies, but my guy has been awesome. No stressing, ate 3 days after I got him, no attitude, perfect shed, not head shy at all, and rather active and in the open for the most part. I'm just a beginner, and this is my 1st hognose as well, so please take this as just my personal experience.

Ok well that makes me feel a bit better. shes in a wood sided enclosure with screen top and sliding glass front so she cant really see much around her. I'll leave it as is for now and try feeding in a couple days and go from there.

Here's a tip at feeding. Unlike the other's that strike, hold the pinky firmly with the tongs (or tweezers), and then gently press l it to their mouth. She may seem 'meh' at first, but she may take it right away. Took my guy 3 tries before he opened his mouth and began swollowing. Now, he takes it with the first touch, but still won't strike. He also upgraded from the super teeny pinks to the large in less than a month O.O

Thanks Ill try that. I know shes goin to start with the teeny ones because when I weighed her the scale was bouncing between 11-12 grams.
