I do not have any pictures, but years ago I seen a snake here in Oklahoma that reared up with a hood like a King Cobra and it moved with it's head up in the air like that. It was one of the craziest things I've ever seen and I still haven't been able to identify what kind of snake that was.

It was fairly small and it moved like a classic hooded Cobra. It didn't come off as very aggressive (I was young so I didn't get to close). I don't remember the pattern.

Probably a hognose or a watersnake. Those are the only snakes I know of that hood up and are native to N.America. pics would always help but I know it was a long time ago. Google weatern and eastern hognose and see if they look familiar.

Definitely an Eastern Hognose, nothing but a Hognose in North America can hood up like that. Water Snakes will flatten their head and body but have no hood, and they wont raise their head off the ground. They stay flat against the ground and strike upwards if you get to close.

The hognoses I've found in the wilds can hood up and expell air but I have not had any raise up in a way that reminds me of a king lol
