Im doing a survey for a science project, and im trying to see if more people feed their snakes live mice or frozen/thawed mice. Youre feedback is very appreciated!

You don't get a choice in Australia; live feeding is banned.

Frozen, they won't attack snake in defense. And I love live mices, so I really hate to see (and hear) them dying. :)

Well my snakes eat rats not mice, but I feed them frozen/thawed. They can't bite the snakes but also it is easier to store frozen rats than to keep and take care of live ones or buy them fresh every week. I can buy a dozen frozen rats and not have to worry about it for 6 weeks.

Frozen thawed only for the reasons stated above.

Mostly feed f/t for the safety and convenience of it. However, I do have a couple of adult ball pythons who are picky and only want to eat live mice. I am working to transition them over to f/t rats now.

Frozen/thawed 100% for multiple reasons:
1) A dead rodent can't attack my snake
2) I can leave it overnight if needed(doing this with a live rodent could leave you with a dead snake)
3) Convenience! Don't need to take care of the feeders or buy them frequently; just get a huge batch and keep them in the freezer.
4) Cost. I'm a student and live rodents are expensive. 'Nuff said.

Frozen thawed with the exception of two snakes that will only take live.

After I discovered several companies selling F/T mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits etc online about 2yrs into me owning snakes, I switched immediately. F/T all the way and luckily my snakes aren't picky, food is food lol. Especially after the petstore I was getting feeders from most likely caused an outbreak of mites within my collection (found out later that the snakes in the store had mites and most likely hitched a ride home when I bought my feeders).
