i want a black headed python- finding a breeder in Canada let alone ontario is proving to be pretty hard

I have boas and carpets, love both of those species because of their size, willingness to eat everything (garbage disposals), and for me far more active than ball pythons (which I have had in the past). I would love a Suriname boa, IMG boa, genetic stripe anery retic, and a striped bredli carpet python.

Top of my list is a white-lipped python, then a bredli python, and then a bearded dragon because I miss my old one.
My favorite reptile I've kept is a tie between the 10 year old male green iguana I just recently rehomed, he was very tame and we had him his entire life. And my male colombian rainbow boa. He's very inquisitive and I've never received a strike or bite from him. Not to mention he's very beautiful.

Right now, I'd really like a male egyptian tortoise (T. kleinmanni) to pair with my female. I also wouldn't mind a female eastern indigo (D. couperi) to pair with my male, but I'm running out of space of larger snakes.
A few other wants/wishes:
1. Pair of amazon tree boas.
2. Blacktail cribo
3. Western Hognose
4. Boelen's python :D

We have B.P.s.
Want:
Want / Need to get into lightning pied stuff.
Maybe some orange dream, super orange dream...oooo, Super O.D. Spider yellowbelly. (yup, that)
A little behind with a super pastel pied. (Want...more a need)
Pastel Leopard pied would be cool. (50/50...want/need)
Need, some GHI stuff. Maybe a pastel mojhave GHI male.
So want Panda Pied...might still be a while, our black pastel het pied girl is a picky eater.
(off the top of my head) ;)

Oh boy this is going to be long and I'll probably add to it later too lol.
I'm waiting on a blue eyed luci to hatch this spring. Also waiting on a cape file snake to be eating well now that its in captivity (but that should be very soon!!!). Want a pair of womas and a pair of BRBs. Thats the short list.
In time I want to get a mandarin rat snake, an egg eater of some sort (still undecided on type or locality), nile monitor, and I'm sure Ill remember more before the day is thru.

The herps I want most are a greek tortoise(or two) and an Argentine black & white tegu, but those are probably quite a long way down the road. Who knows, by the time I have the resources necessary to care for those types of animals, I may change my mind due to legal limitations. Being able to move around is important to me, so I wouldn't want to keep anything that is widely banned.
On my list in the nearer future are a cape gopher snake(pending a response from Alberta Fish & Wildlife regarding their species status) and a high contrast black and white northern pine snake. I might consider adding another gargoyle gecko morph to my collection as well, depending on how things go when my male gets old enough for me to try my hand at breeding.
My favorite herp right now is my snow southern pine snake. She's just got so much personality and intelligence, and such beautiful markings! But I love all my pets :)

Suriname Red Tail Boa for sure!
Oh! And I'd LOVE to have an aquatic tank with a couple of Tentacled Snakes. That would be so awesome.

A Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman would also be on my list if they werent banned here

1) Melanistic Russian Rat
2) Anery Russian Rat
3) just more Russian Rats
4) RUSSIAN RAAAAAATS

On the top of our want list would be more monitors, but I don't think our backyard is big enough to house any more large species, once the Mertens' and flavi's go out into their new enclosures. Maybe some Gillen's. Did eye off a Cape York jungle at a recent expo too.
And one day, I will find some central netted dragons....

Top of my list....Woma Python.
PsychoSnake
04-10-15, 09:33 PM
What I have had and enjoy most right now: rosy boas and retics.
Want/Wish List:
1) water monitor (don't have room right now)
2) more retics (sadface)
3) Suriname or Guyana boa
4) Argentine boa
5) more beauty snakes
6) bamboo rat snakes
7) GTP
8) olive python
9) piebald ball python or lucy or cinny (not a ball python fanatic so one of these will do)
10) this list doesn't really have an end.... So I'll leave it at that.
bigsnakegirl785

So far I've enjoyed my boa constrictor the most, but the retic is such a cool snake I'm sure she'll grow on me quickly.
I'm set on snakes for now, but some stuff I would definitely like eventually would be:
1) Argentine boa
2) Motley BCI
3) Suriname or Peruvian
4) Snow BCI
5) Another BRB - either a high red or a hypo
6) Snow plains garter
If when my female retic is older and I think I could handle another giant, I'd love to get a snow or a tiger retic. A Boelen's python is on my list of "probably never gonna get but I like to entertain the idea." Less seriously, I'd like a blue marble ghost Borneo short-tailed python, and a carpet python.

I wish I had a Rainbow boa and a Hognose!
I love it theres a lot of good stuff on here. My favorite is my little hognose, always poking up through the substrate like a little submarine watching me.
Want list:
One of the large lizards, anywhere from tegu to quince to water. Not sure yet
BHP- Sooner rather than later.

I know, but I can dream. I was really happy to see that he's had some success in his captive breeding program as I've been following it for a while now.

Other than picking up some diadems ratsnakes in the next couple of months I am at a holding pattern for right now. However, here are some species I'd recommend others look into.
-flame bellied armadillo lizard. Cannot be imported anymore but have proven to be breedable in captivity. Someone should really get a few unrelated pairs and keep these going. There are still WC pairs available if you look around right now.
-Emerald Tree Skink-These are cool little lizards that from what I've read do well in captivity. Some up for sale right now in various online ads.
-Viper boas: It seems like these would be best for an advanced keeper or someone who is willing to do a bit of research on their needs. DMexotics had some really nice red ones. I think if someone could selectively breed for reds these could be very worthwhile.
-E. frenata- I've seen some bluish specimens of these rat snakes and they are breath taking. I believe Prowley Exotics may have bred them before. Selectively breeding for blue, someone could make a stunning snake with these.
Just a couple of ideas of what I'd do if I had more time, money, and space.
1. (Not a snake) Black and White Argentine Tegu
2. (Not a snake) 2 Beardies (1. blue, green, or white 1. red-orange color morph)
3. Western Hognose (would be hella happy if i could get a snow)
4. Mexican black king snake

2. Mid white pied ball python
3. Anery tessera cornsnake

2.Citrus retic (too large for my space and time)
3.Panda pied ball python (too expensive to even consider)

Like JKRs dreamsicle or wit out the lavender. Those dreamsicle are my favorite bp morph.
If you do make some would you line breed or start selling. If selling, I'm curious at what cost.
I really want a blue eyed Lucy, an indigo snake and if I get the courage.....a Brazilian rainbow boa. So far I have 7 snakes....I think I need to move into a house. However all 7 are comfortably situated on two moderately sized shelves in my apartment so they really don't take up that much space.

No, we don't own one, but one of our aquaintances here in Adelaide has just got himself one. I believe he is converting his inground pool to a perentie enclosure.
We have Mertens', the sloths of the monitor world, and two flavi's, our garbage disposals.

I have 2 leopard geckos l, and this summer I plan to get a medium sized snake, probably an arboreal species. I keep my pets in large cages, I'm building my leopard geckos a 4 ft cage atm. I highly doubt I'll ever have more than 3 different species of reptiles due to space

Definitely line breed to start, but there would have to be limitations bc of the birth defect probability. No, not the dreamsicle more like this production from Wicked pythons.com Once my stock was correct with the right holdbacks then I would sell. Wickedpythons.com Call me boring but I will stick with these guys. Cost?? Check with the guys that produced this magnificient animal. I'm still on second base with this project.

Still what a Pituophis (Bull, Gopher) someday. Pyro King, MBK, maybe a Desert or Speckled King as far as Colubrids go. Bioga Dendrophila (Mangrove Snake) is my ultimate Colubrid I hope to own someday. Besides that, its all about Crotalus Species to move into venomous keeping. Cerberus, Molossus, Tiger, maybe an Atrox, and a Banded Rock if they ever get taken off the protected species list here in AZ.

Well hows this for not so mainstream? On tuesday I will also be adding a Mehelya Capensis ( Cape File snake ). Its been really hard to find and finally tracked down a male now just need to find a female to produce some cb babies. These guys are pricey as wild caught so if I can get some successful clutches they will move quickly and will go for a nice price.
