Hacked?

I got an email for ssnakess.com last night about someone trying to unsuccessfully log into my account a few times from an IP address in china. Anyone else have this problem? Why would anyone want to hack an account on here?

There hasn't been any attempts to hack into my account, but it seems an account with the name "Malice" has been hacked. They sent me a suspicious PM with a link to some sketchy website promised "cheap pet supplies and other branches". It appears to be an old account that was never very active.

I got that PM too, but no email that someone's trying to log into my account.

Could you post that link so we can advise others (elsewhere) that it's a scam.

Looks like the PM has been removed by moderators. Can't remember exactly what the address was but something like hotsales-pets.nz or similar to that. It struck me as something that they probably have a lot of variations on though, so the same people might be sending out many different links which serve the same purpose. Not sure of the nature of the website as I didn't dare click the link. These were pretty obvious scammers, though.

so they are still at. Not sure if that's a hack, or just a spam account now.

I dont understand why anyone would try to hack an account of this type in the first place? Theres no financial info associated to this site. What is it that they hope to gain from doing this?

I'll have Jason look into the issue further with these PMs.

I'm assuming the point is to click on the link and once there they get what they want. Maybe an "in" somewhere to get that information?
