Abigail, who has a nice rainbow sheen, pinkish belly and cross on her head.

Mushu, who has had some health problems but has completely turned around from the erratic and tense snake she was..

Both of these came to me as surplus snakes from a friend who purchases larger snakes and got these as part of a collection liquidation. He had no time for them.

Do you keep them together all the time or just for pics?? Sweet looking snakes!

Loving Mushu!!!

Got some beautiful ladies there!

Right now they are still together, they came that way with a brief separation and then I had to fight the mite war so I have left them together. They are happier that way. If one is out, the other states at the top of the cage until the one comes back. They are a unique pair

Thank you! I think Mushu might be a hypo salmon (?) just by the bow tie saddles and black speckles. I've compared countless options and that's the closest I found for her. And abigail... I'm a bit perplexed.

I was initially told she was Colombian/red tail mix.. Since doing my own digging, I've thought rainbow Colombian, Sonoran and by this point, Nessie. I would love whatever help I can get identifying both of my babies. I've never seen such affectionate snakes. Abigail in particular loves faces and to settle on shoulders and put her head flat up on a cheek.

Nice name ;) makes me want a boa though

Lol nice names indeed lol.. I have had corn snakes and my mom had a ball python yeeeears ago but never a boa.. These are each right at 5' (Abi has a few inches on Mushu tho) and I tell u, I wouldn't take these for a winning powerball ticket. Such personalities! But I have a lot to learn so I can make them as happy as possible :) they have turned no less than 4 ppl (so far) from snake haters to snake lovers. One friend actually got himself a small boa a week after refusing to come in my house and then giving in and hanging with abi. They are amazing

I very much want one from what I've read and learned thus far though that isn't much in reality. Major thing for me at the moment is max size and caging requirements. I would want to provide a big cage for one. Mushu is now in a 48x24x16 even though he is still a juvie, for a boa I'd have to go bigger.

Oh I understand. I have these 2 in a similar sized tank and hesitant to go bigger right now bc we at moving to the coast over the summer.. That's another thing I have to research too- suitable enclosures, but when I get eyes on where I can set them up. But wouldnt a vertical enclosure with shelving and limbs and high sitting points be like a playground for them? They seem to seek the highest point (our heads, tall lamp shades, dresser top, etc) while out and stay there as long as we let them..

Very nice pair -- and well done on both healthcare and snake hater conversions!

You might want to consider (eventually) separating them...snakes are *generally* solitary creatures, unless breeding. You could, however, keep their enclosures next to each other....

Best of luck either way!

Thank you both :) when we move and I change enclosures, I guess I will separate them..

In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions on the ID of these 2? Here are some clearer pics

First picture is an Hypo animal, (salmon is a hypo breeding line) Second animal looks like a BCI crossbreed, pattern makes me think it has Nicaraguan influences. (Sonora is also a possibility but seems less likely, too bright and Sonora's are pretty rare)

I have come across both possibilities in my own hunting. She (?) has a pink underbelly and blushing on her head also. I don't know, but nothing can detract from her brilliant personality.. If a snake could smile, this one would :)
And that's what i thought also on Mushu, a hypo. I'm still researching what exactly that means. Do u know if they are more prone to any health issues?

Hypo's are a very common morph, they do not have morph specific health issues or increased odds of any issues. And they are both beautiful :D

Thanks guys :) well it's feeding day, Mushu has been letting me know she is good and hungry so I've got mice coming (my good friend and buddy that recently converted from hater to snake owner lol... He is bringing my mice since he was out getting his..) and hopefully she will eat better this time :)
